Looking at some players out of contract I couldn't help but think these would be good additions and won't cost the earth
Al Habsi wigan 33 years old and would make a good understudy to Silvestri
Jamie Ward Derby scores his share of goals tenacious and a winger just what we need
James McLean Wigan another freebie another useful winger again and is strong and scores goals
Bamba played well last season forming a good partnership with both Beluscoli and Cooper
Surely we should look at Andy Delort has done nothing since Wigan signed him before that scored 34 goals for Tours bought by Wigan for £3m by Rosler swap him for Morrison or Doukara he cant be as bad as them
Ngoty why not give the lad a chance now that Austins gone cost nothing and should have been played towards the back end of the season
We should then spend what we have saved on Gray from Brum cost £6m fantastic prospect and only 18 with real pace and a striker who can score goals Gary Hooper has done nothing with Norwich probably be able to buy him for £2m and finally Knockeart from Leicester I really like this boy and he can score some very good goals price around £2m
Well that's my thoughts whats yours

Jamie Ward - Already set to sign for Forest with Bolton, Fulham, Blackburn and Brighton all looking at him
James McClean - Wiki says he has a year left on his contract.
Andy Delort - Would surely command a fee?

The question is, would these players prefer to sign for Leeds who have had a decade or turmoil, who's woes are common knowledge who finished bottom half again and who's ambition is for top ten or the likes of Forest and Derby who's ambitions and chances of promotion are far better,

Contracts, Fee's and/or ambition are going to rule out almost any decent player in the championship IMHO

Would love to see the reaction by the Leeds crowd to the non poppy wearing mc clean, especially as the club regularly respects the Yorkshire troops.

Where is he apologising for nationalist terrorists? My point was before you make your mind up about him read what he has to say and his reasonings for it. If you still feel the same then fair enough. I believe he has valid reasons in not bowing to the annual pressure.
On a football point of view he's not great but better than what we have currently in that position

Yep, just confirms the blokes a cnut
I read his reasons, they were only given after the intended refusal had caused the hoo haas and he was trying to justify the unjustifiable.

If whelan hadn't Been in possession of fewer of his marbles than Mike he would have told him to **** right off.

But I never argued he wasn't.

As for 50 players, give it time we haven't got to the end of May.

If you are British you should be proud to wear a poppy, if your work organisation is British and wants you to wear a poppy you should......

There is no justifiable reason for a Brit to object as a matter of conscience to wearing a poppy printed on a football shirt.. Feck me, it's not like he was being asked to ****ing buy a poppy. The British legion is a fantastic charity, it raises money through poppy sales and donations. It is not about the rights and wrongs of any war....

You are right its not about the rights and wrongs of any war nor is it about the rights and wrongs of wearing a poppy. Its about having the freedom of choice whether to wear one or not.
The British Legion is a fantastic charity but there shouldn't be any need for it to exist. Any Government should look after its ex servicemen without them having to rely on charity. But thats a different argument

As far as I am concerned any individual is free to buy and wear a poppy or not, but it shouldn't be an ideological debate about if I wear one I am supporting this or that action.

But if a British employer wants its employees to wear a poppy and it has made a donation, which all clubs do, the instruction is entirely reasonable and should be complied with. The fact that this bloke got on his political soapbox makes him a Cnut.

But he didn't get on his political soap box. At Sunderland McClean told them he didn't want to wear it. Sunderland didn't make him comply with it which they could have done. Instead they put out a statement saying he wasn't going to wear one thus creating the hoo haa. McClean wasn't making any political statement just excercising his right not to wear one. After Sunderland released the statement he then asked if he could explain his reasonings and sunderland told him to say nothing about it. 2 Years later Wigan let him explain his reasonings. Whether you think they're valid or not he wasn't getting on his soap box
