Fettis is obviously one of these people who believe only Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool and Spirs players should play for England. Funny how many Vardy experts are out there
Careful Miami, I actually think our friends from Hull have a chance of staying up. Which is a shame... Neither Hull or Newcastle really deserve to be in the Premier League next year, but such is life.
Ridiculous amount of negativity about Vardy's selection, Yes, I'm sure that if it weren't for the U21's taking priority & injuries Roy wouldn't have included him but they are the circumstances so Jamie gets an opportunity. So well done & good luck to the lad. I'm sure it's an opportunity he'll grab fully, for the experience, training etc even if he doesn't play.
Absolutely not , if your good enough it should not matter who you play for , but vardy just isn't England level , just take a look at all the players around him , there on a much higher level than he will ever achieve
... in your opinion of course ... in Roy's opinion Vardy obviously is - ... the obvious flaw in your statement is that the players who will be plying their trade in the Championship next season unless they get transfers will obviously not be playing at a higher level
You only people who think he is is you lot (very biased ) from a neutrals point of view he shouldn't be near the England squad , we have plenty that can match him for pace who are twice as good as vardy
... so Roy Hodgson is not a neutral? ... the fact is Fettis, we DO know him better than you and better than neutrals because we've watched him week in and week out ... and right now - i.e on current form - he's up there with the most effective players in the Premier League because we have taken 19 points out of a possible 24 losing only to Chelski in our last 8 games (and even in that one he caused Ivanovich, Terry, Cahill etc immense problems and set up Albrighton's goal for a half time lead) ... indeed there are many top international defenders in the PL who have not enjoyed playing against him this season ... Walcott can match him for pace ... but does he defend as well? can he tackle? will he commit wholeheartedly to a 50-50? ... probably no to all 3 .... Fettis you are entitled to your opinion ... but so is Roy Hodgson and the England selection team ... I have to smile at all the sofa FIFA managers who are so adamant that they know better ...
Nice situation to be in wanting both hull and Newcastle to go down. A win win situation for sure lol.
And the Hull 606 is unbiased? C'mon there's such an agenda against Leicester going on over there. Funny how hull fans are the only ones being so negative
The Hull lot really have got in a tiz about it, they do know we didn't pick the squad, that it was Roy, right? Shouldn't they be worrying about being relegated & how to get to Bristol next season? At the end of the day it's not what we think about Vardy, it's what Roy thinks. He's seen enough to interest him & he wants to see a bit more, end of.
For the record, I was chuffed to bits when Rickie Lambert was picked for England, it's a great story and more importantly, well deserved. Vardy is now a well known name in football circles and his graft has earned him this call up. For all those saying that England players should only come from the big clubs and be earning mega bucks, well remember what Greece did in the Euros a decade ago, were they big time Charlie players at big clubs?
Absolutely. No-one will be happier than me when/if Berahino starts on a regular basis. I can't stand it when the England manager only picks players from the big five. You seem to think I have some kind of agenda when I make comments on these boards. You're wrong. If I thought Vardy wasn't good enough to be picked for England, I'd say. If I thought Hull were better than Leicester, I'd say. If I thought Pearson wasn't the man for Leicester, I'd say. I said the reverse to all these, and all of these opinions have been backed by actually events. Your comments, on the other hand, seem tainted by bitterness and possibly a bit of jealousy.
Vardy´s only in my `dream team` squad. Well I thought I´d better being how it´s the last game of the season, he´s in form & he´s an England international (may be)
An absolutely fantastic read... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...p-caps-remarkable-season-for-Jamie-Vardy.html
