Dwight Yorke expressed his interest too http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/578973/Dwight-Yorke-Considers-Sunderland-Manager-Job
Need at least £40-50 mil to get the quality players in just to make us a solid mid table outfit. This is make or break for Ellis imo. We will see where his commitment is this transfer window.
I loved his second last paragraph - 'they have to realise......" He's talking to the board through the media. It's almost as if the board themselves don't realise just how potentially big they could be if only they'd invest in themselves! From a man with 30 years experience, they've just got to listen! If they don't listen to a guy like Dick, then maybe this board just isn't up to the job!
There`s your answer. I`ve twisted on about that lot for ages. Can`t think of another reason why Ellis keeps getting crap advice.
Would it be unfair to suggest he's a yank and knows **** all about football, sorry soccer, and also that he's too easily impressed by all his new managers and hangs off every word they say, even though it might by crap?
Does he interview them on his own or are there other board members present? You know, Byrne and the other business types who know **** all about football.
No idea mate. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he's interviewing though. I would have thought Congerton will be sitting alongside next time, if Dick doesn't take the job that is!
I would hope so mate. I don`t hold Short solely responsible for the previous failures. Clueless board imo.
I like what he's putting across to the press. He doesn't need this job. Gus did, to make his mark. Paolo did, to make his mark. MoN did, to get back into management. Dick knows we want him and he'll demand things be a certain way for him to stay. He knows the squad need sensible money pumping into it. If he stays now I think it can only mean good things for the club.
