Ruddy Nora...I meant why is it better marketing wise? I'd be interested to read the strategy of a company looking to engender worldwide brand recognition in an extremely competitive market by changing corporate identity every other year.
What's the point? Do we actually have to change the kit every year or could we not just keep this one?

We've always switched between the 2 and for me I wouldn't keep buying them if it was constantly stripes. I like the variation between the two so effectively buy more shirts due to this
I counted the half and half one as one of the plain ones, we've only had one completely plain amber shirt in the last eleven years.
Hooped socks look better than plain ones. Quite simple really. Nice of you to respond without an insult, too. Amber socks are possibly the worst thing to ever happen to the club.
