No they haven't pocketed it, they've blown it on ****e replacements.

We have absolutely no idea at all what Harry Kane is thinking so no point guessing or pretending we do.

It'll ultimately come down to his ambition as Spurs are a top six club at best and will always remain top six at best, they will never break through as long as Levy is in charge changing managers every two minutes and buying ****e players. If Kane wants to progress beyond that then he may well be open to a move.

Chicharito +£30m sounds fair to me.
Not like you guys are using Hernandez so he would be no loss.

Still think it is too early for Kane to leave Spurs tho, both for his development, and morally.
Sterling isn't giving Liverpool enough of a chance either.
Hell even Bale gave Spurs 3 good seasons before ****ing them off.

Oh he will move, if he has any ambition at all.
But the kid is 21 and has one season of football under his belt.
He owes Spurs one more season at least, and any prospective buyer in their right mind should want him to have another season at Spurs anyway, just to test his mettle if nothing else.
Next summer, if he has another season like this one, will be the time to swoop.
And £40-45m would be more than fair (Good striker = £30m, plus the ******ed British premium which adds £10m = £40m + maybe a Levy asshole addition of £5m = £45m)
Right now I wouldnt pay any more than £30m....at the very maximum......
If Kane has voiced no ambition to move clubs, then Spurs would be better off just letting him get on with it and keeping him for another season.

True, but then Bale also ****ed Southampton off for Spurs after one full season. Ditto Walcott and Ox and they all did alright out of an early move to a bigger club. Not to mention Rooney, Ronaldo, Messi and others.

For every SWP, Obertan and Sinclair, there are players who can make an early step up. The key, as I said in the Sterling thread, is whether Kane has the mental resilience and willingness to put the work in without getting disheartened if he struggles at first.

Walcott and Ox I feel would have benefitted a great deal from staying longer.
Bales move to Spurs was a no brainer, dont even think Saints were in the PL at the time were they?
And he moved at youth level anyway, he wasnt a first teamer at the time.

If they didn't sell there best player every season, they'd be a a team that could move into the top 4. Imagine how good a team they'd be now if they had hung on to the likes of Modric and Bale. They'd be scoring bucket loads with Kane and Bale in the same team, and they'd have one of the most compete midfield players in Europe supplying passes to them.

As you say they keep spending the money they get on ****e players, so they may aswell just hang onto the good ones that they do have:biggrin:

And if I had no cock and balls but a fanny instead I'd be a bird.

I'm not though, so regardless of whether they may as well not, experience tells me that Spurs ultimately sell.

It won't/shouldn't happen this summer but will in a future summer not too far in the distance.

    This.
He will be sold, no question. Spurs do not regularly get top 4 or win silverware, so they haven't a leg to stand on when these special players come up.
I just think it would be the wrong move for everyone if he leaves this summer.
He needs at least one more season at Spurs for me.
The buyer will receive a more complete and accomplished player, Spurs will get a larger fee, Kane will be better positioned to request a higher wage....everyone wins.

You may be right with Walcott, although I think Ox has done alright. Bale had played one full season for Saints, think they lost in the Championship playoffs. Don't see that as a no brainer personally - if anything it was a bigger risk with a bigger step up for a player even less proven than Sterling.

Also worth pointing out that Lallana was at one point seen as the 'new Walcott', but stuck with Saints and his career has since gone pretty much nowhere. So staying at a club can be as big a risk as moving on - no guarantee Sterling won't go the same way as Owen or Fowler if he stays at Liverpool.

And the ability of Rooney and Ronaldo to handle the step up to a higher level can't be doubted, nor Messi, although he did move to Barca at a much younger age.

What I mean is in regards to Bale, he wasnt bought by Spurs and slung straight in to the first team.
Yes he had had first team football in the Championship, but he didn't break into the Spurs team as a starting XI player until 2 years later, he was developed in with the under 21 team.

Ah, I got you. If anything that made it even more risky for him - why would you give up first team football, even at Championship level, to go into another team's youth team?

    EDIT - wrong thread!
You're saying Kane shouldn't go somewhere until he has truly proven himself, but Bale hadn't even come close to proving himself at Saints before moving to a club which wasn't going to give him a chance to prove himself for another two years.

Yes but it was quite literally a different league, and I would imagine even PL youth players are paid comparable to Championship players anyway.
Was most likely worth the risk to make the PL.
