We need a few more bodies, so we need 4 players in if 2 players leave. Of course those players must be of a decent quality, but we seem quite good at finding players like that. Always depends if any Academy players can step up as we have a policy of not blocking the career path....though that has proved more difficult the higher we climb. Mustn't give up hope....we found an 18-yr-old Schneiderlin and turned him into the present day Schneiderlin....could happen again.

It's just a question. If we haven't then I would think his leaving is a deal ready to happen. If there really is no deal or offer on the table (acceptable), then I wonder why we aren't offering him a new one. No time like the present.

Perhaps Les hasn't offered Morgan a new contract because a smack in the mouth often offends.

He is signed up for another couple of years so I'm not too surprised that we aren't rushing to offer a new contract.

Frankly I would be insulted if Morgan chose Spurs over us.

Fully agree, Arsenal is a step up in football and financial terms which involves Champ League which Snidders has highlighted as his objective.
Why would he go to Spurs? Club that will be in turmoil with a big change over of players and building their new stadium for several years. If it is to join up with MoPo, his chances of surviving another trophy less season are slim as the supporters are already moaning and Levy isn't shy about firing managers. He would increase his wages over Saints but no where near as much as Arsenal could pay.
I can't see Spurs paying the transfer fee anyway.....they will look to off load as many of their rejected failures as part of any deal and can't see us accepting that

Reading the Jose Fonte interview, seems we may have offered Morgan a new contract.

If no deal in place (I do believe there is) then why not offer him one. No harm in saying "hey we know you stayed, thanks and we did say you can go at the right price this summer, but just in case there is a tiny chance that you listened to Jose, here is another pay rise and new contract so you are in no doubt we want you. If no, then fine and thanks."

No-one ever asked a lover "are you sure" just as they climb into the car of their new beau's Ferrari?
