May be talking ****e here (alcohol induced) but historically there are a lot of South American defenders take a while to get used to the premier league so it may take a few season to get up to speed - that lad was immense for me the night like If you watch the south American leagues they have more time at the back which they don't get at premier league level so it must take some adjusting
Certainly alot more reliable than Verghini but I honestly feel his performances are helped by JOS. They could very well be our duo nest season.
I'd have him over Vergini anyday but if we were to keep him he needs a pacy partner to make up for his lack of speed . Also his Injury record is a nightmare. We don't want to swap Wes like for like, so that would need to be taken into consideration cause Liverpool paid about 8.5m for him, so they won't want to sell cheap.
Don't know like, He's left it late. I'll leave this to the experts, see what Congerton and (hopefully)Dick want. Outstanding again today though.
SlTed him when he first played for us but he has been immense when he came back in and he has looked better and better. All depends on cost and getting someone with pace beside him.
Only played 20 Premier League games with us and Scousers, gotta be a better bet than Vergini tho. (who is ok squad player)
I remember a few Liverpool fans coming on here when we signed him saying he was immense on their pre season tour in America and they expected him to push for a first team place.
Agreed, if he can add a yard of speed he'd be one of the 1st names on the teamshett next season after what he's shown back end of this
Last 3 matches. 3 clean sheets. He's started them all. Just saying. At a couple of million I'd take him. Better that Vergini in my eyes.
Behave yourself coatsie's price will be through the ceiling with that kind of talk. He's been awesome last 3 or 4 - but awful prior - has he come good or just a purple patch?
Agree but in our position it's gonna be difficult to attract that talent. Hopefully we sort out Coaching position and Congerton can start his work now we are secure. At this point just pleased to be out if it.
Vergini is a done deal btw. He has met the clauses in his contract (number of games played) and we have met our clause (staying up). It's up to him whether he signs not SAFC. Hope we sign that journeyman midfielder Lee Cattermole onto a long contract though!
Thought he was awesome tonight. But they all were! Don't know how much he would cost? Does anyone know? But as Funky said earlier, leave it to the experts. They'll have the stats.
