LOL. It was REALLY a bar. During Euro 2000 I was in Liège with a mate, and we went into a place which seemed like any other bar you'd find in France, or the French-speaking bit of Belgium. I ordered two beers, and was told they didn't serve alcohol. It then clicked with me that the bar owner, and all the customers, were north African looking, all had coffees in front of them, and that I was in a Muslim place. I didn't make a song and dance about it, no-one was offensive to me, I just went to another bar. And got completely pissed.
Not really worth getting arrested over trying to beat her to death with a packet of bacon! Haha! If I'd have been getting served and she refused to touch my bacon I would have left my £100 worth of shopping (about a half dozen items knowing Marksies) and walked out! I would then feel like returning during her next shift and doing the same again, and again, and again, and again. I would also encourage my friends and family to do the same....if they could be arsed! Which they probably couldn't. She should be made to wear a big sign on her saying 'Will not touch bacon!' Are the public made aware before they dump all of their shopping on the conveyor belt that there would be a strong possibility that the fusspot may not be able to complete the transaction? If not, they should be!
Well yeah, I'd have to shop in M&S first before it happened to me! I sometimes go to Waitrose near me for convenience and the bacon there is about £7 for 4 slices, if anybody is forking out for that they need their heads checked. I used their toilets when my bathroom was getting ripped out and replaced I felt a bit gutted when my bathroom was finished and I had to start using my own toilet again.
No one should be forced to right a slogan, on a cake or anywhere for that matter, if they do want to, so if anyone is being discriminated against it is the cake maker..
Exactly..I have nothing against consenting gay couples doing as they please, but surely the same rules apply to the owner of this bakery having the freedom of choice to act and run his business in the way he feels is correct.
A post from those golden days of NOT606 when everyone was happily debating and getting along so nicely
Wouldn't disagree, but why should people be able to discriminate in this way because they think being gay is wrong. Let's not beat about the bush, THAT is the nuts and bolts of it - the religious lot believe everything they read in a book, Man must not lie with man etc etc
