Well he did very little of note when we had 11 men, second half he tore us a good un with 10 that's for sure.

He had started tearing you a good un before you went down to ten, tbf. Little of note in the first half, agreed.

Well Berra was dismissed on 48.31 ( just looking on BBC ) and with you saying little of note in the first half, then that gave him 3.31 vs 11 men to tear us apart ;)

He was very intelligent movement wise vs 10 though. Sometimes teams with 10 are very tough to breakdown, I thought you did a very good job.

I think he's got a chance of playing for England one day perhaps. Good player, however I did think Mings did a decent number on him when we had 11 home and away.

I'm convinced Mings will be off in the summer for us!

And, tbf, he did quite a bit in that 3:31!

It was (as others have said) all to do with him moving more centrally where he was much more useful - so yes, Mings managed him well when they were directly opposite each other.

Redmond is an odd one - he's generally nowhere near rated by Norwich fans (as far as I can tell) as much as he is by opposing fans. Mings had him under control fairly comfortably (though equally I felt it held Mings back attacking-wise). Redmond's easy to read, has a terrible shot, lacks composure and doesn't get his head up enough. His passing and inter-play is improving and his faults are largely things that should improve with age, so he has a shot at England level, but it's by no means as certain as people seem to think. He hasn't been a guaranteed starter since Neil came in either and when he has he's usually been substituted, so that tells you mostly what you need to know about where his level is currently.

This is so true. I was watching the last game with my brother-in-law, who's a WBA fan, and he said 'I do hope you go up, but in a way I don't want you to, so we can take Redmond off you. He's just what we need'.

Just shows for me that Redmond is still very much a 'highlights' player. NCFC Fan's who watch each game see his mistakes, and its also obvious to us where he needs to improve. I pointed this out to my brother-in-law. Cheeky twat said 'We'd bring him on a bundle'.

Very true Rob - we came close to scoring just a minute or two before the hand ball incident.

If that was his best performance to date however then I'd question just how good he is....!

    ? eh

That was the point I was making. Did you read?

He was unstoppable in the second half. But he's not a guaranteed starter for us, not a key player though he can very occasionally change a game (like on Saturday), and is definitely overrated by other fans

Well he's played, let me check, wiki says 70 times for you.

You've agreed first half - he was contained.

So sure, he had a very good 45 vs 10 men. He must have had better 90 minute games vs 11 men for you?

Possibly. But part of the problem is he's the sort of player who doesn't have a brilliant 90 mins. He has a brilliant 30 seconds which lead to a goal (e.g. v Southampton). But they're few and far between, which is the complaint.

Whereas against you in the second half he carved you up once v 11, should have scored v 11 (but for handball, which essentially won us the match). And then ran riot against 10 men. So in terms of "moments" it probably was his best game.

I'm not being entirely fair because of course he brings more than that (he pushes the defence deeper because of his pace which gives our midfield space and he works hard defensively, e.g. Mings didn't manage to get forward). But overall I don think he's a key player for us at the moment, unless he plays like he did against you more regularly.

Which actually is the final point - given the stage, the pressure and the consequences of the match, this was definitely his most important performance for us. He essentially got us through to the final. So I can slag him off for immaturity or inconsistency, but he did a bloody good job Saturday.

But he does seem to be a big time player. Always excellent when playing for England for instance. I expect him to have a great game at Wembley. Having said that he will now start on the bench.
