Not for WJ or chesh too name only two! <doh>

To put it in context, Mick has lived in Italy for going on 10 years and knows how Cellino conducts himself. He's doing exactly the same to Leeds as he's done in Italy.

Mick has seen it for years on the news out there, unfortunately too many Leeds fans cream themselves at the thought of a PL return and don't see the bigger picture, you've had 10 years of **** ownership and yet some fans are happy to believe any old bollocks of the same owner actions repeating themselves! <doh>

And there is the nub of the problem, the want/need to be back in the Premier League. I think there are people out there who believe we 'belong' in the Prem. I would like to be back there but I don't have the god given right to belong there. So they'll accept any **** that is thrown at them especially if it comes from Italy because 'hey at least it's not GFH or Uncle Ken'

Since Cellino came in there's been division amongst fans, we had same with GFH and Bates, and we'll eventually have it again when we eventually get new owners, it's a Leeds thing, it happens with every new owner...............it's normal.

And some fans say Cellinos insane.....<cheers>

Fair point, but it seems likely there's going to be more down the line, and he has a reputation for illegal activity and dodgy dealings that will inevitably land him in hot water again - you can complain that the FA have a vendetta against us all you like, the fact is if Cellino behaved himself throughout his career they wouldn't have anything to complain about.

Comments weren't aimed at you personally, I'm just tired of fans defending Cellino. I understand if buying ER/TA back wasn't financially viable; I understand why we sold McCormack; I understand why promotion in two years wasn't feasible - but don't make the promises in the first place. He goes on about how much he loves the club - the fans are the club. If he wants our approval he needs to stop breaking promises, or at least stop making promises he can't keep. He also needs to sign some half decent players and ensure the few talents we have are given more than two year contracts <doh>

I think the reason I'm so tolerant of him is that I honestly see him as a passionate character. When he promises, he really believes it. Nothing underhand, just sheer aspiration and desire. A true football fan, if you like. Ok, a pissed-up true football fan then. Just like us Jocks.:D When we go to Wembley, we honestly believe we're going to beat england, and sing & crow about it. Completely illogical & irrational, & never likely to happen, but it's just the way we are - enjoying life & our football.

Don't get me wrong, I really really want rid of Cellino. He is terrible for this club and been saying it since before he bought us.

But the press conference wasn't as bad as people are making out.

I've got to say i've never seen a bloke as uncomfortable as Pearson for that 70 minutes and i've been to plenty of weddings <laugh>

    His face said everything.

Why did he actually call a press conference?

I personally don't see Cellino as a bad person.

Like WJ says, he's passionate, speaks with passion and furthermore, I believe he's honest when he says things but, he speaks off the cuff with passion and desire, without thinking or checking many things first, but so do a lot of so called normal everyday people.

What he's done in past is from the past, if he was a peadophile, rapist, murderer etc then my thinking would be different and totally opposite, and, are there any squeaky clean posters on not606?

Cellino is no different to other owners, they all look for tax breaks, tax loopholes and ways of not paying tax, some you hear about, others you don't.

Manure owners are about 150,000,000 quid in debt, probably more, Leeds fans would really have something to crow about then if it was Cellino, wouldn't they? Instead, we have an owner who is trying, and slowly succeeding in steadying our ship financially, at the moment he's doing a good job.

We went into an embargo, wasn't Cellinos fault, it was GFH's, but Cellino managed to get us out in 6 months.

Debts were sky high thanks to GFH and Bates, wasn't Cellinos fault. Cellino managed to get a lot of our debts paid off or reduced.

Cellino's in charge and all of a sudden people are coming out of the woodwork claiming Leeds owe them money, some were from Bates and GFH's days, but Cellino had to cop'em and pay'em, and pay'em he did. Someone has something against Cellino and is out to get him for one reason or another, I smell Bates and Harvey around all this.

Cellino got rid of our journeymen and deadwood, which were the players a lot of fans were complaining about, funny how some fans quickly turn, isn't it? By getting rid of the deadwood etc Cellino reduced our spending, thus helping to reduce our debt.

Cellino paid players on numerous occasions, before he actually owned the club. Was it Cellinos fault the players weren't being paid, no, it was GFH's.

Cellino brought in 15 players from overseas, which included 2 from within Britain. Cellino was aware of the possibility of the upcoming embargo, so he tried to keep costs down, plus, any money spent on expensive British players would have increased our embargo and attract a possible big fine.

For the record, QPR are set to get a fine up to 30,000,000 quid if they're back in Championships, for overspending no less. I wonder what the Leeds fans would be harping on about if Cellino had done that.

I like Cellino, I like his passion, his personality and his desire. Yes, he makes mistakes just like any other owner or coach/manager for that matter, some he's admitted too, but this is his first season in British football, old habits die hard, as many of you on here will know, but noone is beyond the realms of learning, at any age.

I personally think Cellino plays with the media, when he plays with the media he's in control, not the media. I like the way he's prepared to stand up and fight for what he believes in and the club; Bates and GFH fought for themselves.

Some continually point a hate filled finger at Cellino, they don't want to acknowledge the good things he's done, but believe anything bad said against him, either by others, or the media. Should Cellino do anything right, then the hate filled finger pointers will ignore it, or say something negative because it goes against their hate filled agenda.

A hate filled finger eventually leads to obsession, as is the case with some fans on media articles, and especially on JA606, and some take it as far as abusing Cellinos family to try and justify their hate filled agenda. There are some on here too, I'm not going to point fingers or name names, people are entitled to like and dislike who they please, but some with hatred are showing signs of obsession.

He's going to make mistakes, even more down track, but at the moment, he's steadying the ship and stopped us going into administration, which GFH wanted. GFH also tried to set him up, but it backfired on them.

For whatever reasons some like or dislike Cellino, truth is, we're in a better position than we have for the last 12 years.

Many support Redfearn, but Redders isn't as honest as he makes himself out to be. He played the fans, he used them to gain popularity knowing it would turn many fans against Cellino, but it's backfired on him at moment.

Redders was stubborn, he played his boys and favourites ahead of many of Cellinos signings purposely imo. Many of his players didn't always play well, but he wouldn't sub them, when some of Cellinos signings had bad games, he subbed them. Many will say the academy boys have played brilliantly all season, but many believe what Redders says and what the media prints, which is normally a carbon copy of what Redders says.

Truth is, Redders academy boys and favourites haven't been playing that well all season, some good games yes, but many bad ones too. I find it interesting, despite Redders saying we have the best midfield in championship, that most teams always seemed to find a way to march through our midfield, a midfield that didn't know how to feed our strikers, but Redders boys always played brilliantly, very little said about Cellinos signings.

For me, Cellino is doing a good job under hard circumstances left by Bates and GFH.

    Fair enough LIY,...:emoticon-0148-yes:

I have a funny feeling he'll be here next season and hopefully, we'll do a lot better at challenging for promotion. I have a funny feeling we will.

Sell to who though? Someone like a Ridsdale, Bates or GFH would be disastrous and a totally backward step to Cellino, and let's face it, when owners sell, they're not bothered about who they sell to, they just want their money

I don't dispute that all owners (and indeed wealthy people in general) look for tax breaks and loopholes, but for God's sake, either be clever about it or don't get caught. Whether you think Cellino is good for Leeds or not, he's no use to us if he's banned!

You can't really use the 'is anyone on not606 squeaky clean' line, because we're not the ones in control of a football club.

I think the majority of us fans in the 'anti-Cellino' camp are simply there because we're sick of him moving the goalposts on everything. I get that everyone makes mistakes, but have some foresight and monitor what comes out of your mouth. I'm sure most of us never really expected promotion in two seasons or for ER/TA to be purchased back, but it's still frustrating for us as fans to have an owner who can't keep promises. How can we respect him when he's never kept one of his promises? He's passionate and has desire, but that doesn't make you a good businessman or a good person.

Not going to drag out another Redfearn debate, but there's a reason why the academy lads are being linked with Premier League clubs and Cellino's signings are being linked with moves back to the second rate Serie B sides they came from. Cellino himself said Mowatt and Cook were 51% of our season and is well known for being a huge Taylor fan. I agree with you - I think they all had good games and bad but they've obviously done enough to endear themselves to Cellino. Also you can't blame Redfearn for sticking with his academy boys when Cellino himself said it was his dream to have a team of academy products <doh>

Cellino in his own many numerous truths which I have ran through the google absolute bullshit translator:

“I’m not a man who earns money at night and spends it in the morning. I respect money, and not just mine. People try to say I’m a thief but I tell you I’m not. I never will be. Not because I can’t steal but because I choose not to. I pay what I owe.” Massivego, April 2014

Within 3 months was found guilty of not paying what he owed in tax in a scheme called Machiavellian by the Judge.

"Next week I will go to the bank and buy back Elland Road and Thorp Arch." Massivego, April 2014

To be fair he might have gone to the bank the next week but it wasn't to buy back Elland Road and Thorp Arch.

Again on buying Elland Road; “That’s the first expensive investment we have to make,” he says. “Principle one.” When will it happen? “In 2014,” he replies. “It has to be done.” Massivego, April 2014

    Principle 1 = Not Done.

"I don't want to make promises I can't keep and I admit it will be difficult to get promotion next season. But in 2015-16 we will earn our way back to the Premier League, which is where Leeds belong." Massivego, April 2014

"The club is not for sale. If in two seasons the club is not promoted then I will sell it." Massivego, May 2015

Join me next year for the annual Massivego delayed vague promotion prediction.

“We had a £15m budget to buy players and we’re doing that. The money from Ross is not for that. It’s for Elland Road. McCormack’s money, we mustn’t waste. If we buy a few players more because I suddenly feel rich then I can’t buy the stadium anymore. No – we buy the stadium. I’ll buy players anyway.” Massivego, July 2014.

"And when I realised the £10m from McCormack went all on the garbage, because there were players on contracts but we were not using them, I thought next season we don't have the millions of McCormack, but we don't have the £9m in the stands, so next season we don't have to waste money. We have to keep the wages under control." Massivego, May 2015.

That money from Ross that I mustn't waste. I did. I spunked it up the wall. That seperate 15 million pound budget for buying players? Err I'm off for a beautiful cigarette...

"There is no debt anymore and we have found a deal with GFH and I am glad for that" Massivego, July 2014.

“I’m very happy because we’ve fixed the club forever,” he said. “When we bought the club, we left 25 per cent (of shares in Leeds) with GFH. We had some problems, we started arguing but I went to Bahrain on Sunday and fixed everything. “GFH showed me that they are happy to keep their 25 per cent. They show me that they want to act as a partner and fund the club to the same percentage as our 75 per cent. They trust me, they’ve put fresh money in and they’ve cleaned up something that wasn’t very clear.” Massivego, December 2015.

“While we will fail Championship Financial Fair Play as a consequence of the historic and reported set of results for 2013-14, we don’t envisage being in the same position again.Creating financial sustainability will take 12 to 18 months from this report date. We have already achieved financial stability in the calendar year 2014.”
    Massivego, April 2015

We have no debt. Everything is sorted. Apart from that debt that we'll sort in the next 18 months. Oh and that debt from GFH which I didn't notice when I didn't bother with due diligence. Oh and that debt which you owe me for buying you.

On Redfearn - "I hope he stays at least 10 years. That is the dream, to keep him as coach for at least 10 years." Massivego, November 2014

    I will sack him tomorrow.

“I am in love with Neil and I don’t want to talk to anyone else about the job,” Cellino said. “I have always believed in him and I gave him his big chance. I made sure he had a clause guaranteeing he would pick the team. .." Massivego, May 2015

On Cani "I said to Neil, can you let him play 1 bloody game, if he's bad, he's bad. I never saw him" Massivego, 15 minutes later May 2015.

I'm already talking to someone else about the job and the clause guaranteeing he would pick the team is obviously not meant to mean that he actually picks the team.

I dislike him for many reasons, not just his varied truths, but mainly because he's a 57 year old man who has taken over our football club and is running it like a only child who's parents have failed to notice him for the last 2 minutes so he's running around the house with his pants down screaming Me Me Me.

I'm a Leeds fan and can honestly say I have no idea who owned the club when Revie was in charge and also say I honestly don't care either because football should not be about owners. Leeds United should not be a platform for the arrogant ramblings of an incoherent idiot talking about his own opinions for 70 minutes. (nor do I believe should it be the platform for a marketing campaign for a ****e soft drink).

We've spent 20 years of this **** and seem to be in some kind of Stockholm Syndrome whereby we excuse or justify **** owners. I just want someone to financially take us over with the ability to start to unleash our potential on and off the pitch in a quiet professional business like manner, whilst leaving a football manager to get on with the football.

We all know we have massive potential as a one city football club with a large fan-base. We are potentially in a great position in terms of the academy recruits coming through, our ability to make money from our crowds and fan-base but we need sensible owners, stability and a long-term plan.

And if anyone honestly believes that Cellino can be described as sensible, stable or in possession of a long term plan then please drop me a message as I have a bridge you might be interested in...

He quoted Cellino and then posted the actuality and based his viewpoint on that. No hate, just a dose of realism. Is it a sweattie thing, both legohead and you seem to think just cos you think it, it must be so, reality doesn't seem to cross the mind of yopu haggis botherers.

He thinks like the vast majority of Leeds fans.
It is you that is out of step on this one.
Nothing wrong with being out of step, but it's a good plan to realise when you hold a minority view.

Everyones entitled to their opinion, I won't hold a grudge against someone cos they disagree with me. There are also those who are for Cellino, and those against, both for obvious differing reasons.

I don't think anyone is out of step whatever their opinions or points of view are, however, there are many instances in history where the minority have come through to succeed.

example, me and Chippy agree on somethings like Redders, but disagree on Cellino, we're not at each others throat over it, if we were there'd be nothing to gain, Chippy would still hold his opinion same as I would mine.

    DBC, respectfully,

I don't understand why you included the above in your list of reasons for not liking Cellino, it says that Cellino wasn't at fault for the original FFP embargo, then says we've gained financial stability for 2014 and he can't see us being in a similar position in future. Can only be a positive thing for Leeds, can't it?

I believe it was Manny Cussins DBC, by all accounts a very good owner who gave Revie a lot of support, eventually took a big dislike to Clough, even though he made a mistake by bringing him in in the first place.

I agree Kiwi, we're not the ones running the club, but wouldn't it still be a glass houses scenario?
