I've noticed over the last few years the long sleeve shirt made famous by players such as players who wore them have become a thing of the past.

They have been replaced with the clima cool etc. body hugging under shirt with long sleeves topped off with a short sleeve club shirt.

    Wtf ...

In cold I wear short sleeve with lycra undershirt <ok>

However, on our Sunday team kit it's all long sleeve so end up rollinfg hem up even when cold.

Don't like having long sleeve unless it's lycra because it doesn't flap around.

Is it that distracting that you can't play ball ?

Maybe I'm old fashioned but if forced I'd opt for the full sleeve shirt. In a perfect world it'd be short sleeve no under shirt no matter what weather but our away kit (Sunday league) is short sleeve and we don't wear it as often as the home kit <cry>

Yes... it is annoying when they have to get all shirt sizes in XXL for the fat ****s and I have a shirt with sleeves about 4 sizes too big

    You'll love this..

2 seasons ago we had a bright pink kit from Nike like the below. Actually quite liked it, was decent quality as well which helped.

We had a decent sponsor who paid for some and could get some money from work to go towards it, we were the Man City of the football league

It's all to do with the development of new fabrics and sweat wicking, if you're wearing just one layer and sweating into it you might not be at the optimum body temperature as the layer gets wet and starts to give you a chill, having a dedicated base layer and the club shirt over it is better at regulating heat/cold. Obviously this is most commonly seen in winter and everyone in the know has realised that thin layering is more effective at keeping optimum body temperature, at trapping heat / wicking moisture / cooling, than one thicker layer on its own

    Back on topic Assholes

I find such under garments leave much to be desired. There is something satisfying about smashing you opponents face with your own elbow rather than a sheathed appendage

  20. Majority of Sunday league players have the tight lycra tops underneath nowadays, get with the times oldies. Next you'll be saying you can only wear black boots unless you're good <doh>
