........ all the lowlife, bullshitting, hypocritical knobsacks who lack dignity, morality & basic decency.

From a fractious thread, where tempers were sometimes frayed, a £100 bet was made as is often threatened on here but rarely honoured.
It's very easy for people to act the big man and puff their chests out.

So it's been an honour to meet Andy, a QPR exile, who took me up on a bet about his team.
I haven't asked his permission, to post our pm's, but let him sue me <laugh>

I hope this is a lesson for the creeps who come on here acting the big bollocks but would never dream of backing it up.

These are the pm's, so far, for anyone interested ......

I'll take you up on that bet...

Smug, I'll take you up on the offer, but due to location / betting rules, can we make it a charity donation? I'd rather not ask you for your bank details, or send you mine!

If QPR are relegated, I'll post a donation to your charity of choice, USD equivalent, and if we stay up you do the same to a charity (probably something animal related) of my choice.

I'm happy to make it a UK charity if you prefer.

      What say you?

I'll happily have that bet and charity sounds fair.

My charity is the Salvation Army, the only one I trust tbh.

      Cheers

Sounds good to me, and with a Grandfather who served in REME in Africa, one I'll happily donate to, should the worst happen.

I'll do a little research on my charity - there's one over here I'd like to pick, if you don't object. Otherwise, I'll happily pick a UK charity.

Good luck for the rest of the season. Honestly, I think we'll be fine - I've got the same feeling as I did our first season back in the Premiership. But time will tell!

Cheers and good luck to you lot.

It must be difficult to be so far away from your team, I was in the south of France for 20 years but at least I could fly back on the cheap airlines. I'm back in the UK now so getting to see a few, happily I couldn't make it last night.

In the Prem, it's fairly easy to find a stream - although the quality's variable. I managed to make it over to the Hull game (sadly!), and working in a bar, getting up for the Saturday games can be tough.

But yes, it's a wrench. And last year in the Championship it was a nightmare to even find a stream!

      Hello mate

Really sorry to see you go but rather it wasn't us obviously.

Football's in a mess now and QPR are just victims.

Anyway, let me know how you'd like to pay the £100 and I'll get the details from my Sally Army branch.

      Cheers, Smug

      Hey Smug,

Sorry for the late reply. Our board's been a fairly depressing place lately (for obvious reasons!) and I tend to avoid the place when a meltdown's happening.

It's probably easiest to use PayPal for the donation. I don't have an account at the moment, but that shouldn't take too long to fix.

Good luck on getting the 1 point you need to be assuredly safe - although I don't think you'll need it. The way Hull and Newcastle are playing, you're pretty much safe anyway!

Now, a little dream for you. If Hull beat United on Sunday... :)

Send me the details, and I'll get the donation over to the Sally Army later this week.

      Cheers,
      Andy

Cheers mate, just shows that not everyone is a witless wum or sad internet persona.

I'd had a drink last night, when I posted the thread, so was mebbe's out of order, no going back now though.

I feel bad taking the lad's money, as he's been a star, but charity begins at home ..... or summat like that <ok>

You`re not taking it Smug. That`s the point. You`d have paid up the same.

It`s about honour and integrity. Something sadly lacking nowadays and great to see it`s not dead.

It's a great gesture and nice to hear...only a small concern (don't take offence) it's the publishing of pm's. But i guess if consent was given, i'm sticking my nose in for nowt.

Anyway, still a great gesture, well done the pair of you.

Aye it`s a bit weird. Only started when I retired. Body clock all to hell after keeping regular hours for 50 years. <laugh>

I didn't ask the lad but the bet had already been discussed on various threads ......
    http://www.not606.com/threads/sunde...sunderland-not606-match-thread.291613/page-10

I did wonder, this morning, if I was out of order tbh and I'll pm the lad to check with him.

    Fair play to the bloke.

Why anyone takes a bet with a stranger on the internet I will never know.
