Our world should just be QPR IMO Wherever we play We know our place now we aren't good enough for league 3 of the premiership ... It's a void and makes us all sick in the head QPR can't play anywhere else until we build s team ... We could buy another team as I have always said but it's 500m from where we are today and then we will all get infected because we think we should win every game The easiest way of looking at it is to look at Spurs in League 2 of the premier league where are they going ? League 1 of the premier league is about as boring as it gets IMO plus those teams look fragile compared to Europe I like league 3 which is what now 10th downwards? I like the championship as that looks like it's the top ten for the championship
Of course I saw us but not in the ground. The early 90's team was the one I fell in love with as a teenager. That's still the team I long for us to eventually emulate. That era also happened to coincide with the PL & a lot of Sky coverage . The first game I actually went to however was after we got relegated You Sir need to awaken from your slumber
I want QPR to be genuinely competing, trying hard to get to the next level, whatever and wherever that is. Not being the whipping boy in a league we are totally unequipped to deal with, with no quality, no organisation, and no hope in our team. That's why I'm happy to be back in the Championship now, and I really don't want us back up there until we're properly equipped to make a go of it.
It was and we played good football to boot Rio was very good apart from the goal Charlie missed a pen oh and another one 4 points gone we may of only needed those 4 I am pleased we went down in some ways now as I realise we need to reform
You read it the wrong way round. With that aside, I have enjoyed watching you lot this season and wish you the best of luck for next year.
Blimey, joined yesterday, 17 posts and already found your way to another board to do a wind up......classy.
Think you might get your wish next Suday, Hull look doomed.... Anyway looking forward to Championship football next season despite what the consumer thinks, eh Swords? With the depth of problems the club has re-building in the Prem is just not feasible, this is probably the last opportunity the R's have to get it right the club has to get off the merry go round of spending daft sums of money on mercenaries and has beens..... There will be no shortage of decent sides in the Championship next season so lets enjoy it and hopefully we'll have more than 8 wins to celebrate. UR's
I have watched several really close matches in the Combined Counties League over the years....and trust me they are not enjoyable to watch.
I'll just respond by cutting and pasting my post from the thread in question... And add that, for me, it's not just about the teams being more even and a financially even playing field, although those things are important factors. But it's about the integrity of the sport of football at lower levels. I feel that there is next to no integrity around the top of the EPL. A simple analogy of my feeling on the subject is this: I'd rather go and see lesser known bands in smaller venues if the music is good and played with heart, rather than watching pop artists who are very talented and the whole onstage production is spot on yet the music itself is specifically designed to 'sell units' instead of expressing any kind of true, integral human emotion. Every one is different and it's a matter of preference but I'd easily rather see a game at a packed lower league club where both teams are really committed to the cause of their respective clubs and play with real spirit and togetherness, rather than going to see two top EPL teams where both squads are full of mercinaries. But some people enjoy watching high levels of skill and get a kick out of it. It's why guitarists like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai have fans. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate good ability but it's not the most important thing for me and I have the same sentiment towards all things in life; I'd rather surround myself with people of great character than choosing friends based on how successful or impressive they are.
While we put so much of our hearts into supporting our clubs (in whatever sport we choose -- and here, we're choosing QPR in football) at some level we're talking about entertainment. I know that its so much more than that, but at its basic level we're going to cheer for a team that's all about entertainment. If we see the club playing hard fought (and hopefully more often won than lost) matches with a level of play that's worth the price of the ticket and our investment of time and energy, it doesn't really matter what division we're in. We've seen PL games across the league where teams have just not shown up from Man City all the way down (Chelsea always seems to try, even if they're atrociously dull to watch). I've been to League games that have been exciting and a joy to behold even if the players on the pitch aren't as technically skilled as those in the PL. If we invest in, grow and develop a squad that cares, performs and is decently managed against the competition I don't care if its Championship, PL or elsewhere.
Is Football better to watch in the lower leagues? No. whatever your allegiance, there's something about watching a great team playing to the best of their ability that can't be replicated by 22 League 2 sloggers. Is it always better to watch a top level game? Also no. Some of the games where big money is at stake have been absolutely dire, with players scared to do anything for fear of making THE mistake. As a fan, the level your club plays at shouldn't make a difference. When we dropped to the third tier, did any of us stop supporting the club? No, of course not, because we are white and blue through and through.
