I don't know enough of the Hull United/St andrews stuff and I can't be arsed to find out.
It just seems on here that loads of mud gets thrown to try to prove a point.
I can't be that arsed to debate something til im blue in the face unless I'm face to face with someone.
Anyway, enjoy your evening, I am off out for a <ale>

They're almost exactly the same. Completely new club, took over an old one. The key difference of course is that they started from the bottom and with the co-operation of the club they took over from. Just like most new clubs do, except MK Dons. No one would have had a problem with MK Dons had they not taken Wimbledon's football league place by force.

Yes because as I said it's more than a business it's been part of my life for nigh on 50 years, and I went through Dolan, Fish, Chetham, Buchannen and Hinchcliffe, Lloyd, 6 arseholes as equally bad as Allam, I still turned up in the hope that things would turn round, and it did with Sir Adam.

Is it a case of better the devil you know? obviously if the name changes then I'm off, but if getting called names by a tosser upsets people that much maybe they shouldn't renew, I've been called much worse than irrelevant just on this board, so it's not that, it's more the disdain the owner shows to the fans who have stood by the team and manager all season.

Allam has a unique business selling generators that no one else seems to make, so he knows he has a monopoly, and he mayby thinks the same rules apply to football and when the council upset him, he starting a war that has backfired on him but he can't surrender because of his background.

Exactly. I have no problem with them doing it. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy with plt and a few others ranting about us changing our name and then supporting a team that has changed its name to gain support.

I may be having a beer with Jamie next weekend so I can try and get some inside info, apparently he is a very successful businessman and good luck to him.

And I pointed out why it was complete bullshit with absolutely no basis.

You ignored that though didn't you. Preferred to just mock like normal.

Aside from the usual pathetic whimperings of children, commonly found here of late...

Any news on revised prices if we do drop...?

Someone said they heard from the ticket office that if we drop there might not be any price increase and people would be refunded the difference who had already paid.

Wow, 4-5 pages of more name change stuff all mentioned numerous times on other threads that have been derailed on the same subject, thanks ellwoods and Mr Shoes for getting it back on track

Bit of a contradiction isn't it, "completely new club" "took over an old one".

Hull United is all about marketing, it does not pretend otherwise.

I find it amusing that some of the most aggressively vocal posters on here regarding the ownership of Hull City, see Hull United as some form of alternative for support now and in the future. The cries of "our club" "our name" got lost in the scramble for a "lifetime" season card. It is as if they see Hull United somehow in the same light as AFC Manchester United, when it is nothing of the sort.
Hull United is nothing more than an ambitious football club, a club that changed its name for marketing purposes, the only problem is that posters like PLT will never accept that, simply because it does not fit with their stance on Hull City.
It poses a bit of a problem. If (and God forbid it happening) Hull Tigers was ratified by the FA and the change went ahead, would Hull City Supporters Trust follow the lead of AFC Man U and form a new club, would it alternatively bind itself with Hull United. Would it then cease to be the recognised supporters trust of Hull Tigers? Would it change its name again?
By the way I do not know what would happen with the OSC, so no point in going there.

    No it isn't a contradiction.

    The rest is just bollocks.

We will remain Hull City Supporters' Trust and will remain the trust of Hull City AFC.

    No problem.

Oh yes it is a contradiction. Hull United is an old club with a new name.

What is wrong with the questions?

I admire Hull United for its marketing strategy. It does puzzle me, how it will survive when it makes nothing from its gate, **** me, I have even got a lifetime season card and I don't even know where they play! I will keep it save just in case, you know hedging my bets.

Good, so all of this talk of forming or supporting alternative clubs is nonesense and I sleep safe in my bed, not worrying if the trust will abandon its club.

By the way OLM, are you posting your opinion or is this a statement on behalf of the trust? Just interested like.

Their marketing strategy is just posting loads of stuff on social media. The idea that they chose a name based on marketing is ridiculous. It's just the standard name for a team from a City that already has a 'City'. The kind of standard name that would make Assem's skin crawl.

They market the Ashbee and Woodhouse links more than anything, as well as Greaves and Dudfield when they were involved.

It's my opinion that the FA will reject the second application and we will remain Hull City AFC. This is also the trusts opinion.

The trust has never actually had a serious conversation about forming a new club if Hull City AFC ceased to be. I'm sure there would have been some support for it should it have come to pass, but personally, I never had any interest in going down that route. If the FA had accepted the rubbish case that was put to them and had approved the name change, the next owner would simply have changed it back anyway.

Dene Park is technically in Dunswell, just outside the Hull boundary, so no.

It's also about 5 minutes from the City Centre in the car, which is testament to Hull's weirdly tight boundaries.
