You want that to be true because you can't stand the idea that people have turned away from Allam and found something else. You're automatically against anything those fans do. We shouldn't protest, we shouldn't expect the club to care about us and now we shouldn't even walk away and do something else when we're fed up of it. Just keep paying whatever Allam tells us we're paying and stay quiet. The point I made wasn't about the name. That was just the minor bit that Dutch picked up on. You asked a question about why support Hull United and I answered it. You always do this, make a rubbish point and then just try and take the piss when you get an answer. You deal with reasoned opposition about as well as your hero Assem does. Hull United never once said anything about changing their name for marketing purposes. They don't consider it a name change at all. They've got the same name they had when the were established in 2014.
Cheers for that. I would say 6,000 is piss poor to be honest. Maybe fans are voting with their feet after all. If that number is right then even Allam will sit up and take notice. He will then say "these irrelevant fans do not deserve a football team, therefore I am selling the club within 72 hours"
Years ago a man called Gerald Ratner who owned a big jewellry shopping chain was filmed at a do, saying his stuff was just crap, it went bust, Allam told us to die, told us we were irrelevant, stole the Asi money, and finally put up season cards. Fortunately for Allam football is not just a business, it's part of people's lives so a lot will renew, but it seems thousands won't, I'm still on the fence
If you want to count St Andrews as the same club as Hull United, then what changed in summer 2014 was the badge, home ground and colours as well as the name. The aim of the whole thing was to have a second team representing Hull at a national level in the higher end of the non-league pyramid, not an amateur Hull team playing against other amateur Hull teams. The entire ethos of the club was changed, nothing remains of St Andrews. They consider their history began in 2014 and that they played their first game in August that year. The chosen name simply reflects that. There's already a Hull City, and 'Town' obviously wouldn't make sense. They wanted to honour 'Hull Citizens' which apparently was the first ever Hull association football club so they used Citizens as a nickname. Choosing Hull United is no more about marketing than choosing black and white as the colours (also in honour of Hull Citizens apparently), or choosing Dene Park as the home ground, it just made sense with what's available. People on the Internet telling them they're St Andrews doesn't make it true, because no one involved subscribes to that. It's exactly the same as saying Milton Keynes Dons are Wimbledon.
So if you've found something else, **** off and stop boring the **** out of us. Why would you be a forum moderator for a forum dedicated to a club you no longer support? Oh aye, you're full of ****, thats why. Put up or shut up springs to mind, sadly you'll do neither.
Did they apply for a name change? They said they were St Andrews, not people on the Internet. They could have done all that you said as St Andrews. Why change if not for marketing? Arguably Dene Park wasn't available. It had a club playing there struggling for sponsors. The whole thing is about marketing. I don't really see what's wrong with that anyway.
So they're the Hull MK Dons? Way you describe it is exactly the same, with less money and lower down, same approach mind. Glad you finally admit that, and don't think its all that bad too.
Why do I keep having to justify answering a question from another poster? Chazz just wanted to take the piss as ever but dressed it up as a genuine honest question about Hull United. He got an answer and went mental about it. I didn't bring Hull United up, I answered the question that was asked about them. I never said anything about not supporting Hull City. I actually said the exact opposite in my first post in this thread. I'm City for life, whereas you're City until Allam says you're not. 'Put up or shut up' makes absolutely no sense on a thread where people are being criticised for 'putting up' in the form of walking away. Like Chazz, you're just an argumentative **** who saw my username and therefore an opportunity for some mischief.
