Successful football managers are as rare as rocking horse ****e and are already employed at notable and wealthy clubs.
Our manager isn't in that category yet our club is one of the worlds wealthiest and noteable, he falls into the next category down the chain(upcoming and promising), LFC have spent to many years in the wilderness to be giving a novice manager more time than he's entitled to at the club and spending vast amounts in general on "promising and upcoming" players.

Our owners are either not interested in taking the club forward to its former glories and are just sitting on a cash cow until they see fit to sell the club on or they're I'll advised by their "soccer expert" and listen to far to much Blarney from Rodgers about his visions for the club and the future.

I can't honestly see Rodgers taking us any further than he has done, Chelsea, City, Arsenal are at the top to stay and Man U despite being **** most of the season have finished above us in 4th and have vowed to plough more money in to get them back to being successful, we need to show ambition to compete against those clubs with a proven successful man either as manager or DoF overseeing Rodgers.

Having made that rant I think Rodgers will get another season from our owners but with far less to spend, which points to another season of struggle.<grr>

    obviously.

FFP is a failure and the vast resources will win out every time.

I'd rather see a limit on player registrations than these **** attempts at FFP.

Spending is not the issue but prudent spending.

Get city on the blower... offer them rodgers for zero compensation right after they sign sterling.

it'd be ****ing poetic of they bought sterling, sacked pelligrini then appointed rodgers and he put sterling in the city u21 squad.

They won't go for Rodgers because they target quality. <ok>

    Would be nice though.

Given that we're unable to attract big name managers atm, are you prepared to start all over again with a Rodgers Mk II - really can't think of any names to put forward here. I'd say yes to a DoF coming in overseeing Rodgers - yes to Rodgers out and a Klopp class manager coming in, but a definite no to anything else.

Offer the Atletico Madrid manager double what he's on now and he'd be at Anfield in a heartbeat. He achieved the impossible in winning La Liga, it's very unlikely he'll ever get another sniff at the title there so why not move on to another challenge and earn more money. He would bring with him a genuine philosophy, not the management speak bullshit Brendan has been trotting out, as well as a handful of players who would want to join him. Job done.

Whatever happens the owners must invest.

    - if they trust Rodgers enough to stay another year then they must give us funds to repare our terrible squad
    - if they don't trust Rodgers and sack him, then they have to give our new manager funds to start our next transition

The reality? Rodgers will stay and we will spend a net £20million. not good enough

    PREACH

    My thoughts exactly

On Rodgers getting one more crack: we need to significantly up our game in the upcoming transfer business we do and buy smart, buy quality cos if we don't as you say it's another season of pain laying in store. Whether he can make it work with better and the right players is still a doubt since he still doesn't have that many that fit into either of those categories, good and correct for the system. So that's another unknown. What we've seen are two seasons of ****e, with well, ****e to averageness and one season of fluke where things beyond Rodgers' control just came together.

IMO it was Suarez making that team do what it did last year, the whole team was looking to him. Rodgers was just a passenger

I agree that Suarez was out of this world, and the supporting cast were also on fire. IMO Rodgers got the best out of them all.
