    Just off the top of my head, send an e-mail to every member and season ticket holder. By making it public, you risk it being sabotaged just like the Liverpool one has been.

    Well you have to supply your email address to vote, so unless you want to make up lots of fake email addresses you aren't going to make that much difference.

    Don't people have other things to do with their lives than sabotage this sort of vote, or am I being naive?

    to stop people messing the vote up only put a few names on the poll that the clubs feel worthy of a chance to win it. This way Osvaldo or someone else silly can't win it's that simple

    Wouldn't that be something. We all club together and buy a Southampton Not606 Best Player of the Season Trophy, which Saints present on awards night. <whistle>

    The Echo report that it is very close for their Player of the Year, though it looks like being Fonte. The Mirror also suggested Fonte for an award, but added that it was a very crowded field for our Player of the Year. And they are right, I have never known a time when you can't complain about any player in our starting eleven. No real weaknesses.

    Pretty sure I've already voted, but if I have, it just let me do so again. In which case I may cast a few hundred more votes. I'm determined to get Shane Long up to the head of the market, just for his fantastic attitude.

    I'm SO torn!! Want to go for Jose, but I do think Shane Long has been amazing and has such a brilliant attitude - never stops running and puts the opposition defence on the back foot all the time. So difficult ............
