It's ok, we're going to sign Newport county youngster Ryan Poole who is on a trial with us at the moment <ok>

I agree he's a quality player but he's not what we need right now and we need every penny we've got for what we do need in the team. Unless, of course, we're going to change the shape of the team again and go back to 433. We'd still need a least one striker (and I'd still prefer two) and it would leave Coutinho in limbo as well (lets no argue about Coutinho being CM or AM again <laugh>)
What even is the shape of our team? Rodgers has changed it so often that nothing is clear any more. Who knows what system is in his thoughts.

I think flexibility is the main thing... forwards that can play across the whole line that have good pace and movement.

Which makes Lambert & Balotelli even more ridiculous signings (Lambert less so being a cheap option for a Plan B)

Petr Cech; quality keeper and better than Migs. Depends on the wages IMO, can't see him joining for less than £100k per week and I don't think we can afford to high paid keepers. I'd chose Cech out of the two but I reckon Brod will stick with Migs.

James Milner; get him signed. Yes, he is better than what we already have but that's not the reason I'd sign him, I'd sign him because he is a quality CM that's been wrongly used as a RM/RW for too long by Man City and England, he was outstanding at CM for Villa and he would fit our style perfectly. Never give up attitude is what we need to install back into the side too.

Esteban Cambiasso; I'd give this a miss. Good player who would make for a decent squad player but I don't agree with signing players just to make up the numbers. Improve the first team and the squad will take care of itself. EC won't improve the first team, certainly not to the level we should be aiming for.

Pedro; right player but wrong time IMO. Quality player but not quite what we need right now, we need goal scoring strikers (rather than the non-scoring ones we currently have).

Lucas Biglia; No idea who this is <laugh>

Carlos Tevez; Get him signed!
Lucas Biglia played for Argentina at the world cup. Decent reliable play but nothing special. I'd call him the midfield grafter type, much like Henderson, but in a more defensive physical manner. We were linked with him under Roy Hodgson which should give you a bit of an idea of his style. He's quite old school.

Decent but I dont think he'd improve on Henderson or Can. Henderson and Can are however young and will improve. Biglia is 29.

Raheem Sterling: Liverpool player 'to tell club he wants to leave'
By Ben Smith BBC Sport

Raheem Sterling is expected to tell Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers he wants to leave Anfield this summer.

The England forward has already turned down a new £100,000-a-week contract, and denied being a "money-grabber" in a BBC Sport interview last month.

Sterling is due to meet Rodgers and Reds chief executive Ian Ayre on Friday, when he is set to tell them he wants to be sold.

The club are determined to keep the 20-year-old, whose contract ends in 2017.

Should he be made available, Manchester City remain the frontrunners for his signature but Arsenal and a number of leading European clubs have also expressed an interest.

Sterling not 'money-grabbing 20-year-old'

While Liverpool insist they will not sell for any price this summer, their resolve may be tested by an offer in the region of £35m.

BBC Sport has learned Sterling raised the subject of his future with Rodgers before the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on 10 May.

Sterling - whose current contract is worth £35,000 a week - said in an interview on 1 April that he "talks about winning trophies" rather than money.

Liverpool's last piece of silverware came in 2012, when they won the League Cup, and they have missed out on Champions League qualification for next season.

Former Reds defender and BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson said Sterling had put himself "under pressure" with his comments.

Speaking on Friday, captain Steven Gerrard told Sterling to stay and play for a coach who "believes in him".

"I think there is no-one better for him than Brendan Rodgers," said Gerrard, who will join MLS side LA Galaxy this summer after 17 years at Anfield.

"The danger for younger players is they want it all too soon and go to another club and just become a number."

Liverpool declined to comment.

Doubt he'll go to a prem club but I'm not fussed. The fact he doesn't even have a song yet says it all. Jumped up little chav at the end of the day. Bye bye

Ben Smith was also on the radio and mentioned that Sterling has fallen out with Rodgers, along with a few other players ...
