    Hi all

Does anyone on here own an Amazon Fire TV?

The Mrs has just purchased one and I'm wondering if they are any good for streaming the sports channels

Please advise me - I'm a total technophobe!

    Thanks

Sell it and get an Android tv box instead, they get every game live and all the latest movies as well.

I've been looking at these, are they any good?

Am I right in thinking you just find an online link to summat and bounce it to your TV? Sounds like a dream.

You can buy a box but I just use an Android tablet They both use an app called Kodi which lets you access every live game usually in HD. You need to have a mini hdmi port to link with your tv
I watched the Manu game on nbc tv

There's **** loads on ebay mate, but I don't know what I'm looking at, I'm not the brightest technophobe mate. Apart from Mini HDMI port what else does it need? I'm guessing internet access, not a problem for me, anything else?

I've heard a few bad reports about the boxes. Apart from the tablet route you can also use a windows PC or laptop and load Kodi onto that. Just plug a HDMI lead to the TV from the computer and run from Kodi. There are some good tutorials here http://www.tvaddons.ag/install-addons-kodi/

You wouldn't need any add-on for that though, you'd just run the stream and run a USB from laptop to TV, even a HDMI. I do this all the time for away games.

What I want is to not tie up my lappy if watching a stream as I like to use it for betting during the match.

That's true but Kodi cuts out all the adds and download requests, plus you get direct access to American TV channels that broadcast premiership football. I don't think you can do this direct from windows as easily but I could be wrong. Take your point about tieing up the lappy though.

I bought a droid tablet from Sainsbury's in Southwick for £60 - 10" quad core processor, not much more than a box. It's a Blaupunkt so never win any street cred but it works fine and does the job, in fact its miles better than my Google Nexus. I got the last one in Southwick but they said Durham had a few left

http://www.hotukdeals.com/tag/android-tablet usually have links to a bargain or two, but you should make sure it has a mini HDMI socket to link to the TV

Android TV box is the dogs bollocks, you simply plug it into your TV and voila. You have every single football game that is being played available to watch live from anywhere around the world On your TV . I've had mine for 3 months now and not had any problems at all. You get all sky channels, BT, all pay per view channels and thousands of foreign channels. On top of all that apps called Genesis and iStream give you all the latest movies.
    It's the best £60 I've ever spent.

Buy it from this guy, his box automatically updates all the apps constantly and he has 100% positive feedback.
I am going to buy a 2nd one for my bedroom.
