Ipswich did have me worried in first half, thought they started much better than us. No denying the sending off changed things, but the first 5 minutes in the second half before the red card we started better. There was one thick Ipswich supporter in the pub we were in, Best one was when Jerome went down with a head injury and he shouted 'why isn't he limping off' you don't limp off with a head injury lol
What the national press had to say. Guardian comment valid and true, Mirror comment made me - the bit about flags at the end http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/norwich_city_3_ipswich_town_1_what_the_nationals_said_1_4077574?
I wouldn't go as far as to say I was worried about Town as there was no real goal threat from them. Of course one long ball bouncing off a players head could change that but the way Bassong was playing, it didn't look like the ariel threat was going to be a serious problem. I was more concerned about City not playing the ball on the floor and playing defence splitting passes to open them up. It was pretty clear though at the start of the second half, City were not going to continue to play the same way as the first and I felt even before the penalty that they would score at some point.
Yep. Not even the highlights show any such "double". Indeed the only shot on target by Town was the goal.
they are right warky, it was the first leg. Still doesn't take away the fact for 3/4 of the tie we more than matched Norwich in every department even though the are disputing it and the defining moment was the penalty and sending off. unfortunately we had the chance to even the scores and numbers on the field if Tommy would have been a bit more clever when he scored as to take the hit from Ruddy and it could have been a pen for us plus 10 v 10 on the pitch. but I have no real regrets, the boys did us proud and I say again well done Norwich.
That has to be speculation though, doesn't it? No one really knows how the game would have panned out in the second half, had it remained 11v11. There is a chance it could have stayed the same pattern, but that is not the same as saying it would have.
no Thai you missed understood me I think. I am saying we could have been 1-1 plus 10v10 if tommy would have stood his ground and let ruddy clatter into him. all could ofs and might ofs, I know but alot better than silly posturing. all in all, I'm not hurt about the tie because I thought our guys did great to bridge the gulf.
You Don't go overplaying your performance. Created only 2 real chances in 180 mins of football. Both were due to bad errors from us and both came from long balls into the box. Your sending off wasdown to our quality and you showed nowhere near the intention to play football. All you did was the basic and easy things. Nothing to commend in that.
does make you wonder how a team that is so good, got dictated too by a team that cost less than some div 4 teams for 1 and a half games. please explain carrabuh.
And I don't care much for it either - yet it pretty much enabled them to finish sixth in the league, so on it's day, it must clearly be fairly effective. Sadly.
Dictated, oh please. You dictated absolutely nothing. We have never looked in trouble in 360 mins of football, not once. 4 games, never in front, 1 draw, 3 defeats, 2 goals down to our own errors, plenty of goals against to go with your other generally crap statistics. You are a deluded crackpot.
I love it when Carrabuh goes off on one. Got the it between his teeth. "Cost less than some div 4 teams" is a hyperbolic load of bullshit and you know it. The true "cost" of a team you have to factor in wages and your wage bill is comfortably in top third in the division. And it's well proven that wage bill has a better correlation to success in English football than transfer fees, so your league placing is barely remarkable on that basis. If anything, it's remarkable how poor your players are for their cost if the expectations were that low. We might have, by Championship standards, an expensively assembled squad, but we earnt all of it on merit by the rules of the leagues. By contrast, your club has spent and is spending an awful lot of money it doesn't have and certainly doesn't earn, only just scraping past the rules because of a (perfectly legitimate) accounting twist.
Carrabuh is absolutely hilarious and very deluded. Absolute waste of time trying to engage in a fair debate with someone so one sided but if you want to be blinkered all your life then you carry on. Welly, you are bang right. Carra is as you described. Carra, you could learn a lot from Drunky........... Rob, some of you have given a fair assumption of us. Others laugh your heads off, think we're a pathetic club that just whoosh the ball for 90 minutes every single game. Well you were hardly Barcelona for large chunks of both legs yourself! See how you get on vs the Boro.
Deluded people do not spout facts and figures. The deluded make interpretations that defy facts, results, stats (and even there own eyes). Therefore to label myself blinkered and delusional is actually (its getting repetitive) blinkered and delusional. Can you please provide a decent argument as to why I am wrong? I'll be waiting for the next 20 mins (although I expect eternity would be considered a brisk response)
