Talking of which on a similar sort of issue, call me self righteous but on principle I don't think I want to book with Thomas Cook again, after making all that money from the hotel owners over the death if the two young children. No amount of money will bring them back but I don't see what else they can do as a good will gesture to the parents. I hate that Americanism where there's a blame, there's a claim mentality that we've adopted but TC should offer the parents something even as good PR.
I feel sorry for the parents, but not sure thomas cook are actually to blame. IMO its more down to the hotel owner, the poor holiday rep handed over the forms for the inspection the hotel lied. your average holiday rep is never gong to know anything about gas and carbon monoxide.
Can you imagine the claims when it goes tits up on SWT following an incident and they find out the bloke responsible for passenger safety spends all his working day on a footie forum?
Fair point mate but it's all about duty of care to the customer much the same as for anyone who travels on one of our trains. TC reportedly received £3.5m from the hotel owner so enough said.

Couldn't agree more with that, it fks me off Lad that used to go to the football, p'd up after a game, crosses road and gets knocked down and breaks his leg. All and sundry telling him he should claim, his response was simply I was p*ssed and an idiot, why the fk should i be entitled to some money. Exactly and if Network Rail gave SWT a chitty to say all their work was safe that would be enough for your fat controller to tell you to blow your whistle. SWT dont check the rail infrastructure they rely on honesty frrom contractors and suppliers.
