Great players are great for most of the time they are on the field of play. Gerrard had great spells every now and then, including some very lucky moments. Good player? Possibly. Great player? You having a laugh!
Gerrard is from Liverpool so for him the highest honour is to play for Liverpool. he could have left and joined Chelsea as Jose has said he tried to buy him so he was clearly good enough for him. as to best midfielder player in PL ? no its not Gerrard, he is behind Scholes, Vieira, Keane to name 3. he is a Liverpool legend, but not the greatest player they have ever had either.
The question is, do Liverpool and in particular Rodgers, regret selling Jonjo Shelvey or Charlie Adam- either one clearly being his natural replacement.

I think the Mousers on this site don't like anyone who isn't a Mouser posting on their board. Nothing you can say to them will ever be right.
