That is exactly my point. I am not saying that others shouldn't have the qualities . The more players the better. But whoever have more of these qualities AND command the respect of the players, should be the captain. It is about being natural leaders. If Suarez was the most inspiring player last year, then arguably he should have been the captain. May be in normal circumstances he would have been made captain.

 

Say what you like but Palace's 2nd and 3rd both shouldn't have been goals. 2nd Zaha was offside so should be disallowed, 3rd wasn't a pen as the foul happened outside the box. Doesn't change the fact we were total **** though and the game probably would've headed the same way had those two not happened. Very depressing, very pathetic.

Comparing him to other British midfielder is a non-starter because they're mostly sh*te. And he has more assists than Coutinho and Iniesta - means nothing.

In the big games, he has been missing. He doesn't take the games by the scruff of the neck, and he's a slightly above average player. If you want to see examples of a players taking responsibility, look at Can and Coutinho - both get on the ball and drive the team forward. They don't hide.

 

This fly past with the banners needs to stop it's not fair on Rodgers a couple of weeks ago our fans did it with the Rodgers out Rafa in banner and this week some Mancs with In Rodgers We Trust.

 

How do you know what fans they were either time? If mancs were prepared to pay for the latter then why not the former too? Banners are a embarrassment so also a oppositions delight for piss taking.
