If just if this were to come off, would we have to wear skirts like them?

Great idea we are getting well ****ed over by London and the south
Public money is being drained to pay for a lot of the work happening in the capital
Cross rail and other transport schemes are getting money thrown at them while our budgets get slashed
    **** the south

I wish the Scots had voted yes. Let's take away the Barnett Formula and see how they manage.

I've nowt against the Scots, (well apart from Allan McGregor), I know they hate us but then so does everyone else. Billy Connolly "Oh the Scottish people are so ****ing patriotic, they'll all tell you how Scotland is the finest country in the world. Right so why do they all leave at the first ****ing opportunity?) <laugh>

No, the reason I don't want to be a Scot is because I'm so ****ing proud to be English <ok>

Yorkshire being its own country does have a certain appeal, if only we could strike gold or something round here and go our own way, wouldn't need the Sweaty Socks on our side then

Couple of miles north of Watford Gap would be my best guess?

Double **** that, I'd rather be associated with the Scots than those ****s from West and/or South Yorkshire.

**** Scotland, thick deep frying racist ****s.

    I'm English, I'll stay English.

I'd be happy with a representative parliament pertinent to my Country. England is the only democratic country without an elected parliament.

Give us the same say as the other countries in the United Kingdom & we'll be just fine.

Some ex-colleague **** posted this on my facebook page the other day, obviously he's now history.

I know you're quite young (relatively) but the rest of Yorkshire has more contempt for Hull and the ER than anywhere else in the UK.

Absolutely spot on Happy, and the main reason why I wouldn't want to be closely aligned with those from either West or South Yorkshire. Strange though that the preferred reitirement location for most of the ****ers appears to be Bridlington!

Well, we'd have to join the Scottish Football League then and start in the bottom tier. This conjures up marvelous visions when it comes to a 'name change' - are we to be called "Queen of the North East", "Hull Academicals", "Hull Thistle", "Heart of Humberside" or "Allam Athletic" - the mind boggles!

If that should happen then I for one will be moving south. I spent 15 years amongst them, and don't intend to spend another minute of my life with them. A shower of racist bastards.

Can we not just break off and go hang with Ireland?

For the record, I think the English are, deep down, mostly Xenophobic hypocrites who motor on about wanting everything to be 'British' and yet happily rely on foreign products in their everyday lives.

As someone who has been living around them for the past year and a bit, I can tell you that the contempt isn't as widespread as you think. That isn't to say it is non-existent, of course it is. But from personal experience quite a lot of people I know, who know where I am from, aren't that bad at all.
