I wasn't having a go, and apologies if I misinterpreted. I would rather watch us playing Arsenal than Tranmere, the opposition matters to me. Just a personal preference, not an instruction to others.

Playing the man is all I can do. I'm a one trick Pony I'm afraid. Besides, could I possibly have given a guy a more polite put down?

Hoops, maybe some people would prefer it but I'd be quite confident that given the opportunity to watch low level (sh*t?) football and decent football, the vast majority would choose the latter. If its a case of having a slightly better than average chance of winning in an awful turgid contest against Rotherham or a worse than average chance of getting a draw in a game with some quality against Chelsea, I personally would think there's an unfortunate complication in the cortex of an individual who would even for a second consider the former.

Incidentally I also happen to think there'd be a higher than average chance of people on this Board suffering from such complications compared to the general populace.

Two of the three teams that were promoted last season have been relegated and one has escaped by the skin of its teeth, what does that tell us?
If you were to ask me if enjoyed this season or our last in the Premier league then I would have to say that I didn't. Was I overjoyed at getting promoted at Wembley last May? Of course I was but I think we all knew what was ahead of us.

But then again look at Southampton and Swansea. It can be done, if you are prepared, have a plan and know how to implement it.

You Sir have hit the nail firmly on its head.
Neither of these teams are ever going to win the league but I would buy a season ticket to watch them try.

I get the argument of preferring an entertaining game we're likely to lose rather than a dull one we're likely to draw/win but how entertained have we been this season? Can't say many of our wins have even been particularly entertaining apart from West Brom. Most of Redknapp's reign was awful to watch.

Our very first performance this season against Hull was better than any performance over the entire previous season.

Besides, last season we were playing Mickey Mouse teams the World has never heard of (outside England) and this season we were playing against decent teams.

    But we lost to Hull!
I have spent hundreds of pounds this season watching us get stuffed, where is the enjoyment in that?

Don't remember being hugely entertained by a 1-0 home loss to Hull at the time. Remember more the awful defending from Ferdinand.

Last season was crap too (Redknapp factor). The most entertaining season by far in recent years was Warnock's promotion season. Probably the best in my lifetime was in L1 under Holloway.

Similar argument- would you rather see a film with a fairly dull storyline brilliantly acted or an excellent plot with crap actors?

Personally I'd rather see a good film with actors who are below par. Would be interested to know what others think.

    That argument collapses with EastEnders...

I have to say I enjoy watching any sport that is competitive, there's nothing worse than one-sided routs. La Liga is becoming that way with Real and Barca scoring hatfuls against second-rate opponents.

The PL is more competitive than most leagues but expectations often exceed reality for most teams. Those moaning on here about not enjoying this season will have more to moan about next season when we're losing at MK Dons and other unfashionable sides.

By the way Swords, have you never heard of Leeds United? They're massive...

Nearly always it's the film that's cr4p, (usually overhyped!) and not the actors.
