You've got to love Ramsey getting slated on here and then Gary Neville spending most of the second half singing his praise and talking about how he's been arsenals best player <laugh>

**** first half. Better 2nd half. Cazorla is gassed. Ramsey is far better at CM than at RW. it worked occasionally but Cazorla's decline means he goes back int he middle, either him or Wilshere. Walcott looked good today. Play him if Oxo isn't fit.
I'd play Chez from now on too. Don't want him coming in cold for the Cup final and Ospina has peeved me off as of late.

Much better performance in the second half, we closed further up the pitch which meant we won the ball at long balls more often and opened the game up enough for us to get back into it.

Fortuitous finish for the equaliser but it puts us in a strong position to secure 3rd.

He came alive when he got switched to the middle, you've got to love how you conveniently ignored that main point. This proved how useless it was to play him out wide, once he went to the middle, he made things happen....If he was on the wing, he would have NEVER made that great pass for Walcott, forget that?

Watch the highlights and the amount of good play he was doing out on the right hand corner of the box <ok>

He isn't a winger and shouldn't be expected to play like one when he is out wide, he offers a different dynamic. As I've said I don't think it works in all games but it has shown to be effective a at times during our recent good run :)

The goal came thanks to him in the middle, you're so great at 'analysing' games you conveniently missed that main play and assist. If he was on the wing, it would never happen. His player rapidly improved once he got switched to the middle, that's just a simple fact, and had you been 'analysing' the game as you like to do, you'd have seen that.

I won't deny that Ramsey has his merits at RW. But Theo looked sharper today and made THE impact as RW and Ramsey looked far more comfortable and at home in the middle.

He's brilliant in the middle, definitely more effective than when he is played out wide, no disagreements from me there. But that doesn't change the tactical reasons for why he might be played out wide. I agree he was really on song at the end of the game in the middle, things were opening up and he was in his natural position. Stop trying to have arguments with me <laugh>

I'd start Walcott for our next 2 games, good chance for him to make a strong case as to why he is important to us. Would start Wilshere too, Cazorla-Sanchez clearly tired and not on best form, give them a rest, and a cameo 20 minute appearance in the last game to keep them sharp for the final.

Agreed. Wenger hinted at rotation for Sunderland so lets give the ragged players a rest.

That's all that needs to be said. He can and showed he is world class from the middle last year, and showed many glimpses of that this season when played there. I think we are far more stable defensively too with him in the middle with Coq.....Ramsey is our proper CM, our Vidal, so we should stick him there all the time.

Think Oxo's injury, Santi's good form and Theo's poor form forced him out wide. But Santi is tiring and Theo put in a good shift today so I think a return to the CM position is in the cards for Rambo

Cazorla has been fantastic in the middle over our last 10-15 games and I think most have been happy with how we've been playing and him in his deeper role, but we need to rotate more. We have players able to play in multiple positions depending on form and opposition and I've got no problem with players starting in different positions for tactical reasons, but I think the key is to not get too comfortable with them playing out of position so as to end up doing it in games where it isn't the best option.

I think each game should be taken on a case-by-case basis, against United, at OT, a big pitch, and with them attacking, you know you will get space, and you need pace in the game already with or without space, so from the get go this was the type of game where it would have been more suitable to have a winger, a pacy winger in the game....And once it happened, we saw how we troubled United.
