It still doesn't excuse the alleged fact that, as an extortionately paid professional athlete, he's taken drugs though. Also if that is true and part of the reason that he hasn't performed to anything like the required standard this season then it also doesn't excuse Steve Bruce for carrying on selecting him throughout that period, as his manager he must have been aware of any family tragedy, and if he wasn't aware then his rank bad management of late just got a whole lot worse.
Jermaine Jenas made reference on MOTD to the personal problems which have beset Livermore. Anyone know what they are?
To be quite honest Polly, and I don't want to sound harsh, although I know it will to some, but I really couldn't give a ****. I'm still fuming that it's really all only coming out now, on the back of a positive drugs test, and a completely ****ed up season. The only interest that I will take in it is why weren't the management aware of it, and if they were then why the **** did they carry on selecting him?!
My only assumption is that like you say management may not have known or Livermore said he would've been fine and played regardless when he wasn't and is now using it as an excuse
Indeed, which will only add fuel to the fire. If they start now with some emotional claptrap on the back of a positive drug test they can simply get to ****!
