Or maybe I just am not blinded by what I want to see ? Liverpool were out fought, out thought and out run in a game the Liverpool thought would be won by sentiment alone, as always in these instances Liverpool have somehow managed to come out of the game the wounded party <ok>

Not sure if this was a wind up? Jagielka at the top of the list renders that link useless.

And Squawka can be used to make Downing look better than Iniesta, Xavi, and Messi.

And using stats to measure defenders is pointless because the key attributes of a defender is positioning and intelligence - how do you measure that?

As I said previously, why did our defence look half decent when Sakho was playing, and instantly went to sh*t once he was injured?

    <yikes>

you think Skrtel is a better defender than Sakho.

Skrtel ia is decent in a back 3 when he doesn't have to mark and can concentrate on being the spare man but Sakho is by far and away the best at the club.

Good in the air, quicker than the rest, best tackler, actually steps out to players to win the ball rather than backwards letting them attack out penalty box and the best passer of the ball form the back.

If if he can stay injury free he could become a great player.

    Well said.

His passing is very under-appreciated. He starts so many attacks with his quick forward passing which bypasses lines, and straight to Hendo or Coutinho, who can then do damage.

Without him, Skrtel and Lovren pass it around themselves or just lump. They slow our play down massively.

Without simple things like Sakho passing, it has a knock on effect for the rest of the team. And these small details is what separates us from the truly elite. It's why I will never accept players like Lovren, Skrtel, Johnson, Lucas, Hendo etc because they simply don't have the added quality to take us to where we need to be.

And apparently Fabianski is better than Courtois and De Gea <ok>

Sakho in a 2 was ****ing useless. He went to a 3 because he didn't have a partner good enough for Skrtel

lol at you writing off stats as useless as they don't suit your argument

So why are we now struggling to play in a 2 or a 3, since Sakho was injured? Rodgers has used both systems.

I like stats but they can't be used in isolation. As I said, Jagielka is rated the number 1 defender in the league. I know the PL is defensively terrible but it's not Jagielka terrible ... (actually, it's not that far off!) <ok>

And you're saying Sakho was poor in a two? But you think Skrtel was good?

Statistically, he has more shots to save so his figures are inflated because of that. Whereas someone like Courtois will have less shots. It's like saying Shay Given was world class because he had more shots to save at Newcastle.

But if you were the manager of a big club, I'm sure you'd pick someone like De Gea or Courtois over Fabianski.

But anyways, enough of the Sakho debate because we'll never agree on it.

LFC could still finish 7th this season - a simple win would have consolidated our position in Europa League, which is a small consolation but still would have attracted players.

The stats prove that he's been the best given what he's had to deal with.

Have you seen him this season? He's been fantastic, you're just ignoring the statistical reality as he's not as high profile as the 2 you mention.

I'm saying that Sakho was ****ing awful in a 2, hence the reason I said it, as he was.

Jags has been great since the turn of the year btw

Not saying he isn't a good keeper. But I rather have the other two because they are able to perform at a high level for massive clubs with massive expectations.

Fabianski can make 5 good saves and make 1 mistake, but be considered a good performance at Swansea. But do the same at a club like Arsenal, he'll be remembered for the 1 mistake. That's the difference between mid table and elite level. And it's why he wasn't a success at a bigger club like Arsenal.

We must be looking at approaching him at the end of the season - there is no way Rodgers can keep his job. We're around 3-4 points off Roy/Kenny's season!
