TBH if we end up third, and win the cup, I will be happy, but won't see it as a huge stepping stone, for me if we got 2nd and the cup, that would have been making a major statement, third and a cup, is very much kind of the same as last year, yeah last year was 4th and now 3rd, but we have gotten 3rd before, 2nd would have been a much bigger stepping stone, it's still not impossible, but harder now. I just hope Wenger makes the needed signings, if he doesn't, then next season will be much of the same....We do need 3-4 top quality players, a GK, a striker, another CB at least, and another central midfielder.
IMO if we beat United we come 2nd, but if we draw/lose we get 3rd. United game isn't really a high stakes one but its one that we want to win. However this is based on an assumption that Swansea draw with City and City beat Southampton. Swansea vs. Man City Man Utd vs. Arsenal Man City vs. Southampton Those 3 are the crucial games in the race for 2nd
If you draw against United, you get 3rd. If you lose, then it is more interesting. You get 6 points from the last 2 matches, you get 3rd. You get 4 points (1W and 1D) you have a good chance of getting 3rd. Just 1 W or 2 Draws not good enough if Utd win their last match.
You will get something............. A footballing hiding, you will get so destroyed that people will no longer talk about the 8-2 humiliation
Well if u wasn't hapless you would be fighting for the title now not 3rd 4th spot the glory glory days of utd are long gone mate.
I don't think you will find many Arsenal fans denying the glory has gone in the last decade, though there has been some added recently thanks to the FA Cup last year and hopefully we can add another one this year.
