Today one of Liverpool's greatest ever players will grace the Anfield playing surface for the last time. The man, often referred to as the English Roberto Carlos, is due to exit Liverpool after not being offered a contract extension. I'm of course talking about Glen Johnson, or as most us know him, John Glenson.

There have been many, many, many memorable moments, we obviously cannot get through them all but it would be fitting for us all to make this thread a shine to the God. Who alongside Josemi and Aspas, may go down us our greatest ever player.

In all seriousness, he's actually been a very good player, but declined pretty rapidly in the last year and a half, never the less he's still been a great player for us, maybe just joined a year or two too late.

Good luck for the future, John. <applause>

My fav moment will be when he leaves. I've never been his biggest fan and feel he should have been sold years ago.

My favourite moment was when I was watching SSN and some hot bird said he was going to out for the season.

But best of luck at Preston/Burnley/M'boro/Fulham (or whatever **** club you move on to).

Awful player who offered very little and was a massive drain on resources. He was a fixture in this team from 2009 which coincides with our regression. Just hope Skrtel and Lucas joins him as well.

My favourite moment was the wonder goal he scored for Portsmouth.

I can't really remember much else positive.

He should never have been allowed to play professional football after the way he cheated in the Seoul Olympics 100metres final.

In reference to the OP I disagree he has been a great player for us.

He's had his moments but has been largely pants since Roy's reign of terror.

Played quite a lot of games but definitely not a great player.

His work rate, lack of tracking, and lack of reaction when the team are down always spoilt my liking of Glen.

Useful player on his day and reasonably versatile - but not much else.

Never been a great player. He was lauded for his attacking ability but I question that as well. Looked good because he was fast and cut in and take a decent shot every now and again, but lacked substance for most part.

It was never that his abilities declined over the years, rather its been the decline in his work rate and effort

As an attacking full back he was one of the best for a 2 year period about 3/4 years ago. Yes his defended was always a bit suspect but more than made up for that with his attacking intent.

He actually started to improve defensively in the last few years (he was Englands best defender at the Euros) but unfortunately for us, in the last year and half his attacking abilities have declined and his defending hasn't improved enough to make him more of a solid RB.

It's a shame as he provided us with plenty of attacking threat but it's time he went.

I'm sure he'll go to a lower prem team and be alright <ok>

Thanks for those good years Glen <ok>

I feel sorry for him. He was an attacking full back and he had to play in a side with no confidence that were always playing on the back foot. And he kept on picking up unfortunate injuries when he was starting to hit some form.

Did well under Dalglish & in Rodgers' first season to be fair.

He's played like he doesn't care for a few seasons...

At the age that he should be dependable. He's a liability.

Good luck to him because the Liverpool he joined was a mess and he hasn't been the worst. Only deserves roughly 88% of the stick he gets (jedi master don't question it).

Apart from players who leave 'under a cloud' shall we say, I've never understood fans rubbishing players when they leave.

Thanks for the memories GJ, good luck in the future. This was a cracker ........

Two **** seasons for us, but actually pretty good prior to that who did win us some points. He gave us width and a decent attacking outlet. See you Glen, but he should have gone two years ago. We're terrible at keeping players beyond their peak.

He joined after we finished 2nd. He's part of the reason why we became sh*t because he, along with Skrtel and Lucas brought the quality levels down.

So, not their fault then. Blame the managers who bought them <ok>
