I'm actually quietly optimistic! Sunderland I fancy to get nothing away to arsenal and Chelsea meaning if we beat Man Utd it's enough. We actually play better against the top teams so who knows, keep the faith
I'm more concerned about west ham not giving a **** a letting newcastle win, and sunderland defending for their lives and getting a point against arsenal or chelsea.
Bloke on the bus home from watching the match in town shouted at me to "Keep the Faith - we'll beat Man Utd." ... wish I had his optimism.
Don't care any more. If we stay up somehow then fantastic, but if not we deserve to go down. 40 Mill spunked on ****.
I'm old enough to remember us beating them 2-0 at BP in '74 - I need my Chris Elton bible for the first but I think Mally Lord scored the second, to be fair, it was probably the ****test Man United team they'd ever had. Getting back to town centre after the game was no fun! Edited to add - Waggy got the first goal.
I was there. It may have been the worst Man Utd team but they did go straight back up ( ? ) and for sure all the small towns in Div 2 were happy to see them promoted.
I was going to say the opposite, big Sam won't want to go up to Newcastle and get beat no way. He's also good mates with brucey, so he could send the Geordies down out help his mate out!!
chances are were down how ever you never know its a one off game next week we have to win the stats say we wont and although unlikly it is possible., we have nothing to lose everybody already as us down but on the day anything can happen we need a bit of luck and have to take our chances and if so who knows
