    The BBC are running a poll on Liverpool's greatest ever player today - and Billy Liddell isn't even in it ! Well, they didn't call it Liddellpool for nothing. It's like leaving Alex James out of Arsenal, or Dixie Dean out of Everton. I didn't vote - couldn't be bothered. Tripe.

    He has been an excellent player, and the fact that he has remained at the same club is a rarity in this day and age..However, I do agree that the coverage has been way over the top and of little interest to anyone outside of Liverpool..

    i caught a snippet on sky and heard a Liverpool fan call him 'a real life super hero!' amongst a montage of syrupy slush and supporters wiping away tears! Could have hoyed up if i wasnt laughing so much! the way this segment had been produced you'd have thought a bloke who put an end to all war, hunger, illness and suffering had died!
