He's quite right though....Jose should have stripped off and shown his muscles It's a shirt, it's got red and white stripes...not a lot you can do with that.
Just uninspiring. Still don't get the whole "we play in stripes" malarkey, sure its part of our history, but I'd much prefer us to be producing kits in the vain of someone like Bayern Munich, which aren't tied down to the same template every year. Air Florida, Sash, 1999-2001 (personal favourite) have all been a variation on Red and White stripes and have been some of our best and most memorable kits in doing so.
At least it isn't white and red that would have been the last straw! Like the one you get from McDonalds with the milk shake.
I only buy them for the wall of my pub, looks the same as last year (only plus the adidas logo). Looks like I will have to wait and see the away top. shame its not going on sale until July as I go back to England in June
A question mainly for DTLW, but will they be using Barry to help launch the away kit too? We've had better and we've had worse as far as the kit goes
You answered your own question there, the reason Bayern Munich don't have to stick with a template kit, is because they're Bayern Munich.
obviously, and I wasn't referring to a template as such, more the fact they aren't limited to "all red" every season. A bit of variety, template or not, would be nice. I wasn't a fan of the all red kit(s) mainly because they were hideous, rather than the fact they were all red.
hardly anyone has said that this time though. When we had all red, I liked it because it was a change; people moaned. When we had the sash, some people moaned. When we had the pinstripes some people moaned. Now we have an uninspiring template, people moan When we get a new trendy one in two years rime, guess what? People will moan. What I don't get is people who moan the kit is horrible or uninspiring and then later on you find out they don't buy one anyway. Some people just like to moan.
Pretend you're talking to someone who hasn't been on the internet for a while. Explain this Dr Barry Gale thing in 100 words or fewer.
I love the stripes. It's generalising I know, but I think most people who don't want to move away from stripes are of a certain age and the reason is nostalgia more than the "tradition". When I see pictures of the players that I loved from my youth (Terry Paine, Mike Channon, Ron Davies) they are in stripes and I immediately connect with those times. Pure nostalgia. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Some of our more senior posters will be getting misty eyed at this point. Younger posters will have to wait a bit longer.
Found this :- http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4475025.Lallana_won_t_go_cheap_says_Wotte/ The final comment still holds good.
so jose tried on a medium and it wasn't that tight, does this mean the super tight fit of this season is gone? THANK GOD FOR THAT.
It looks ok to me. Saints traditionally play in red and white stripes so it's never going to vary much, You wouldn't expect Real Madrid to change their traditional white strip or Liverpool to suddenly go stripes. We don't look like Stoke and Sunderland they look like us
