Arsenal and Liverpool are very close. Arsenal are only a couple million more expensive so it's a forgivable mistake for them to get it wrong, especially since those articles are all old.

Man Utd and Everton are so far removed from the teams surrounding them that's there's no chance of getting their position wrong.

If you look closely they all give different figures. Just trying to point out that the whole thing is bullshit as are individual players wage guesses. There are too many "undisclosed" fees to make an accurate assessment so the press just take a best guess.

I never really trust "net spend" tables. They aren't ideal. When you sell someone like Bale, Ronaldo or Suarez it skews the figures massively.

The wage table is the one that they say is usually closest to the real league table, but the wages don't come out with the accounts until April the year after and by then nobody cares about the season before.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez set to skip Europa League tie if they qualify via Fair Play rankings

The Toffees face a potential game on July 16 - and if there's a clash their manager says he'll be at their friendly in Singapore already scheduled for that date

    • Everton if they get into Europe next season.
But before the Toffees' fans start worrying about his departure, let us explain...
Should Everton reach the Europa League via UEFA’s Fair Play rankings, their fixtures in it will clash with their games a high profile pre-season tournament the Spaniard is fully committed to.
Everton and West Ham face off this weekend, with the side who picks up the fewest cards likely to be take a Fair Play spot which has already been allocated to the Premier League.
That would mean a Europa League first qualifying round first leg on July 2 and, potentially, the first leg of a second round tie on July 16 - the very same day Everton will play Stoke City in Singapore in the Barclays Asia Trophy.
And Martinez has revealed that if the scheduling clash does come about he will definitely be in the Far East that day, because of the Asia Trophy's importance to the Premier League.
“We are not going to change. We are not going to get the players out of the Singapore trip. Obviously the game on the 16th, we are in Singapore - we wouldn’t be able to be here,” he said.
“I am saying that maybe we would change the thinking or the flight back. Some of the fans were concerned about whether we would [not] play in Singapore, but we are not going to change that.”
Our pick of the best football pictures from last weekend:
which proved such a burden for the Goodison club this season.
“Believe me, I don’t think any team will be looking at a Fair Play table. I don’t think West Ham will look at it and I don’t think a team would behave wrongly in order not to get in,” he said.
“I don’t think you can do that. As a player on the pitch you have to be very good to control that. You don’t train to do that.
“The opportunity of being in the early rounds of Europe is something that we would embrace as a football club.
"It wouldn’t change our preparations for the first-team squad. You have the internationals finishing on June 17 and the first qualifying round on July 2. We are not going to change anything, For our younger players, it is an opportunity we would want.”
Everton fans! Do you want to be in next season's

Cos they'll probably earn more as a club in that pre season thing than they will in the EL :D

eh no they won't. europa will generate 5 to 6 million. look at tottenham 2013/14 form the link below. this is before matchday profits and the value such a competition has had for them in harry kane alone. its taken a player going no place and gave him a platform to prove he's worth laying so not he is a big asset..

i is incredibly shortsighted to ignore this.

there is no way the asia cup and playing stoke will make them that.

I've skim read the last handful of posts! The Fat Lad must have a lot of time on his hands as he replies to all of the various posters who drop by to take the piss out of him! It's nice that he has you and Gerrez fighting his corner though!
