So what do you think happened? The players got it wrong or they deliberately lied? Not a complex question yet no one can answer it. Of course all three of you are happy to try and take the piss insisting that it was never true and we were wrong to believe it, but you can't say whether you're accusing the Ferriby players of deliberately lying in a conspiracy against the owners or of being downright stupid enough to misunderstand something so important. I wonder why that is.
Nathan Peat wasn't the only player tweeting that night, several of the players were tweeting the same thing at the same time. It would be a stretch to claim that Peat offered a complete retraction and apology. He deleted the original comments and tweeted again saying that his earlier tweets had been 'inaccurate', that 'NFU may still be staying in the conf north' and that 'The Forsters have cut the budget, not withdrawn it completely'. He left up the 'Allams are pricks' one.
Of course, like the rest of us, he he thinks they're pricks just cos. He can't possibly have a justifiable reason.
I saw the comments from the others. Nathan's second tweets are on this thread, and go a little bit further than you imply. His second version matches pretty much what others had said the actual situation was. Others have later pointed out that such things have happened at a number of clubs that found themselves in similar positions.
So the bloke who wasnt getting his contract renewed thinks the owners are pricks. Grow the **** up its pathetic.
They said what I said they said... Nathan Peat @NathanPeat ยท Apr 26 Fact: th Forsters have NOT pulled all the money from #NFU! The Forsters have cut the budget, BUT continue to still fund a budget for Nathan Peat โ@NathanPeat Playing staff at #NFU. The club may still be staying in the conf north, unfortunately my words were inaccurate....
Are you meaning the first question on your other reply? I would have thought that was self evident. The player got it wrong. Nathan Peat โ@NathanPeat Playing staff at #NFU. The club may still be staying in the conf north, unfortunately my wordswere inaccurate.... Maybe after these words came from the horses mouth, they put its head on his pillow?
So you presumably think they all got it wrong? It wasn't just Peat remember. Does that not seem a bit unlikely to you? They had this meeting and the players mistakenly believed as a result of the meeting that they were being relegated and players released. To the point that they were posting on social media about it, calling the Allams pricks and saying the best season of their lives had just become the worst. Or perhaps it was abundantly clear at the time, and the backlash, combined with the knowledge that wrecking a grassroots team is about the worst way to endear yourself to the FA council, caused them to backtrack.
Others had said differently at the time and since. The other tweets I saw were more comments on the situation of being released, rather than anything that supported the comments in the OP. Can you post the ones you're referring to?
Obvious from what? Tweets that were retracted, and that others said before that that they were wrong? If you've got something to show different, I've no problem at all taking that on board and having a rethink. It's just what I've see so far leads me to my view.
NFU retain most of last seasons squad. Maybe the thread header needs to be changed. NFU ARE ANYTHING BUT ****ED. !!!!!
Despite a blind man and his dog being able to see that owning a non league football club is akin to throwing money on bonfire, the Forster / Allam family bought North Ferriby United. After some time ( a year or two ) the owners said they no longer wished to fund the loss making club. Following a short period of time ( a month or two ) the owners come back and say they will once again fund the loss making club. Is that a fair summary of what happened? If so the big question is WHY?
