Lucky number 14 for me today .................... my birthday falls on the 14th (but not May), today is the 14th so I'm going for the number 14 runners in the 3 big handicaps at York: 2.10 Pearl Acclaim 3.45 Hit The Jackpot 5.20 Tiger Lilly Why not. The Dante looks a very good renewal. I would like to see Jack Hobbs win simply because he is NOT Ballydoyle/Godolphin and I've always liked John Gosden.
Who is? N.Henderson might be your's and SBC's but, for some of us, he most definitely ain't. How's that for the Queen's English? Heck, madam cannot even pronounce the simple word 'how' correctly..........
Nice one Swanny .. all good tongue in cheek banter ... it takes all sorts to build a commonwealth ... we are a broad church on Not606 - long may it continue ...keep the antipodean input coming ...
6.05 Tipp-Out Sam 6/1 win.Already mentioned on the thread by my good mate exotic dancer-narrow defeat at navan lto and fifth place has gone on to win since.hoping for a big run here. 5.45 Perth-Western Home. When I see that old rogue Goeden Elliot send one here I take note!took 9/4 early today now into 7/4.Has already won a pointer and has the services of dickie Johnson board Above are my main wagers today but will have a little flutter at York for the craic. 3.15 Elm Park win.Hasnt had a run this season but still a classy horse 3.45 Prince of Johannesn EW-may not be the force of old but running off a nice mark 5.20-Was given Lycidas as a tip so will do for me
I've backed this Hannon/Hughes horse Racquet in the opener at Salisbury without realising it's a fecking bog
'Antipodean'? Goodness me no, I was brought up as a youngster in the 'Smoke'. Lived in Germany a long time, but I'm English! Think we'd better have polls on "Favourite NH Trainer" and "Favourite Flat Trainer", what do you think? If N.Henderson wins the first one, I promise to keep my trap shut on this subject..........
Nicky the needle really didnt have the best of seasons now did he.fav NH trainer has to be willie 'cash machine' mullins and was the man with 'the magic hands' this season!Fav flat trainer, to many toffs/sirs in there for my liking
Have backed Exceeding Power at 13/2 with PP in the last at Salisbury (17:00), and also in same race Prim And Proper at 16/1, plus an R/F. That will do me for today!
Agree, I think it has to be Willie Mullins for NH racing, followed by Paul Nicholls. Flat racing? Haven't a clue!
Following race followed suit, highest drawn first and second winner was 33/1. So I've just done the remaining races highest drawn and R/fc on those drawn high.
Can't fancy any in the Dante to win the Derby. But we seem to be running out of options, Is there a Derby bred entry in the Derby? I think all these today will be suited more to 10f than 12 but I'm probably wrong.
Gun to my head, I think I'll go for JFK in the Dante. As long as his poor reappearance was down to the ground he should be running Elm park close and may, with the benefit of a run (if that run was a benefit), just pull it off. Over this distance and surface it wouldn't surprise me if Golden Horn beat them both. Needless to say it's not a betting race for me and unless something wins head in chest in a decent time, looking as though the extra 2f will suit I wouldn't be rushing to back any of them for the Derby
A small bet on John F Kennedy in the Dante, ran on very testing ground at Leopardstown last time. Wouldn't be surprised if stable companion Ol' Man River wins!
Where's that "no bet banner" ........................ Not betting in the Dante but will be cheering Jack Hobbs on
