Ok how many straws do we have to clutch at? Things have got more than a little bit desperate, so I'll take any reason for optimism you have.

I like the one that says the Spuds are going to try avoiding the Europa league because after watching Southampton gift two penalties to Sunlan, and the lacklustre effort the Saints put in, it's quite a believable one.

Then there's the one that predicts that some of the Spurs players might actually want to help out old friends, like Thud, Dawson and Livermore.

I've dreamt up a new one. Our players seemed consumed with fear and nerves in the Burnley game. Now they know they are almost certain to be relegated, will they feel more able to throw caution to the wind and just go for it?

    Anymore straws to grasp?

We're into a new moon for Spurs and it's waxing gibbous for Man Utd and I'm sure we all know what that means. :emoticon-0148-yes:

My mum, who is 90, says we're going to win because she can feel it in her water. What more do we need?

I love your optimism! I bet if you went outside, saw a nuclear bomb falling from the sky, you'd be saying 'it's ok I think its missing my house'.

Wiggo has been found, alive and well, living in Wilberfoss.
Has been invited to make an inspirational speech to the players prior to manu game.
Rumours of a banner being prepared, only problem is no-one can find a picture of him in his playing days.

We might win a few games next season and actually play some decent football, not being **** scared of every other team and setting up with 10 men behind the ball to protect 1-0 losses.

If that's not a cause for optimism, I don't know what is.

All the players are wearing one of these in memory of our hero.

    We ARE now unbeatable.

Being serious, I have it on good authority that someone from the club has been to Manchester to look into different techiques that have been used successfully when dealing with football injuries.

Apparently they've nicked the trainer's sponge and bucket from the 60's that was on display at the football museum.

Sorted. If all else fails we'll get a couple of bob from window cleaning.

Oh and there's the one where Giggs and Butt are calling on Van Gaal to play their young against us. Oh wait, is this a positive?

Officials are looking into Van gaal's residency status and work permit.

There's a suspicion he overstayed after his appearances in a Star Trek, and could get shipped back to planet Zog as an illegal alien.

2 months ago nobody would have forcast what the Foxes have done.

More recently, who would have thought that Slumberland would have beaten both Southampton and Everton(a) in succession ?

This relegation battle is what football is all about. Down to the last weekend folks.
