well we have a little tidbit that doesn't agree with your assessment. If rodgers isn't keen on benteke i'd like to know why and then ask... well did rodgers want those players you names too so why not benteke.
Fair point but I was referring to the 'mediocre level of player' part See, anyone that is British or based in Britain is #average in Jimmy law
in reality i would be worried if LFC shelled out 10mil on Origi as the bet on the future and then signed balotelli and then benteke on top... lambert i could understand on a short term deal
It was funny the first time when you referred to British players, but it's getting a little tiring now. New material please.
Bony scored 25 goals last season, had a great start to this season and then joined City for big money. If you categorize him with Lambert then you rate Lambert very highly. Lambert was always a good, low cost, plan B style striker. In our opening games this season Lambert made a big impact of the bench late on by adding some physical presence and height to our attack. He got an almost crucial assist against City and played a key part in our winner against Southampton. This is what Lambert was signed to do and when he's done it he's done it well. Unfortunately for Lambert Balotelli took over this role as the season went on. Also unfortunately for Lambert Sturridge has missed most of the season and Balotelli had a very slow start. This meant Lambert had to do a lot more than the job he was signed to do and this exposed the fact that he does not fit our plan A system, forcing him to struggle and look poor. You could compare this to a player struggling because he has been forced to play out of position.
You should have a read back over you comments, you may realise why I'm saying it then Every time we are linked to a British or British based player you don't like it and/or they are #average but whenever we are linked to a foreigner BANG, they're the dogs bollox and we should be signing them. Perhaps you just don't realise you're doing it? Its also the reason I throw the 'local lad' argument back at you Obviously touching a nerve with it now though so I'll stop doing it
Ings would be a good signing, im more confident in him than Ballotelli and Lambert signings Ings has good quick feet, can finish and is a worker Not our main striker signing I hope but would be very happy to have him in the squad
My gut feeling is he wont be our giant hit but could be our new Kuyt (super hard worker, energy, willing to play any where, chips in a fair amount of goals and assists etc), which is a big compliment if true.
dunno... doesn't strike me as that but if you put him in a better side who knows he could be a 10 goal a year man
