Agree, we say that £15m-£20m players don't want to come here, but here we have a player who wants to come here and that's over half the battle. We have the money and I see no reason why this can't happen.

If Atletico rated him that highly they would not have loaned him out.

Yes indeed. I suspect that our option to buy at £6.8M will simply be renegotiated and I certainly wouldn't be unhappy if we wound up paying >£15M for him. He's worth every penny based on this season.
 
Whatever happens, I'll be cheering him loudly on Saturday. Would be nice to hear the Northam boys sing something for him (though how you rhyme his surname I have no idea!). He's done a wonderful job for us and I really really hope he stays!!
 
he has been Fantastic all year and when he plays well we hardly concede., not to mention his audacious long shots. Would be very pleased if we signed him for 15m+

Agree with everyone here.
Toby is one of the best CB I have seen over my 45 years of supporting Saints and feel that if we can secure his services on a permanent contract will be a clear indication of intent
 
Sign toby, keep Clyne, bring jay back, add Clasie, Vilhenna, Austin and a keeper while losing Morgan, Ramirez, Osvaldo and some other filler players. What a window that would be.

Edit. Should just say i dont want to lose Morgan, i'm just resigned that it will happen.
 
Don't want to get too excited but this would be absolutely incredible if he did sign and a statement of intent, would be well worth £15m or so, the best defender I've ever seen at the club - comfortably as well.

It would be a pity for him to go elsewhere.....however if Saints have got an agreed option to buy for a pre agreed fee surely Atletico would have no choice but to sell toby to us?

Atletico can pay us £1.5 mill to get out of that clause.

We have a agreed fee of £6.7m but Athletico also have a clause that they can pay us £1.5m to cancel that n then either keep him or sell to highest bidder.

You can pretty much guarantee they are not gonna let us pay them less than £7m for him, just hope we can do a deal to get him.
