Watching it again I think it was a reflex goal from Defoe. Graham was facing the wrong way, it actually looked like he was trying control it with touch and it deflected in

I thought AJ's shot was going in, deflected off defender onto Defoe and in

For all Everton s 'dominance' if they had got their strikers in as much space in the box as ours did, then perhaps they would have scored too.

All goals are quality because they are scored by players being in position to shoot/head/deflect or use any part of the anatomy to put it in.

The point is both players were in the right place. Some years agao ManU's Macheda stuck out a foot that scored a winner against us. He was claimed as a brilliant new talent to rank alongside other ManU greats. FFS..

A win is enough for me.

I phoned him to see how he was getting on, expecting him to be in the ground when he told me that they had been stuck in this traffic for hours (some daft bugger threatening to jump off a bridge to blame), and had virtually given up of getting there..However, getting there to see the goals and the win meant he came back very happy..

It's ironic isn't it, you never seem to have your sniper's rifle when you most need it <doh>

To be honest though, it just shows how desperate people can get in this life ........ sometimes it makes me wonder if I take football too seriously.

Defoe changed his shape and aimed himself at the ball, no luck about it in my eyes.

If he'd stood still it would have flown past him, surely?

Anyway who gives a ****, we won, and that's the be all. Never surprises me when we defend better without O'Shea, the slowest moving thing on Planet Earth and possibly even beyond.

PVA & Pantimillon mind, in a summer when we supposedly bought badly, 2 new signings players of year for me.

Absolutely mate. Cos form has dipped a little but he's still a 7 outta 10 every week minimum, and PVA is an ever improving menace.

I still think Rodwell will come good and actually Defoe should be sharp next season, it could turn out long term that last summer was a fantastic one for recruitment. I fear a little that PVA will have caught some eyes though.

Absolutely mate! Its too easy to overlook the good business we've done because of the other disappointments brought in.

    Great signings indeed!

You know, there is some good in the side, and some even better potential, but we must, must, if we survive, bite the bullet and sort the creativity in CM.

We must remove the ageing CBs.

It's gonna cost, but we've surely had 8 of our 9 lives now if we make it, we're just Wigan with more fans playing less attacking football and we have to change it.

I've a little bit of faith based on PVA, Pants & Defoe that Congerton will get it going, more based on the assumption that the 'Gus rejected a,b,c for x,y,z' stories are true.

We are certainly being linked with the right sort, time will tell. We will debate this I'm sure after the season, maybe even after Saturday if we can get a home win!

Huge 3pts! Everton had been on fire at home of late so to go their and defend the way we did and win was very pleasing. Coates played well just hacked the ball forward a little too much instead of finding a pass. Pva is exciting to watch, I think Connors defence and backtracking has come along way! Defoe struggled abit with that but I just liked how the fellas all knew their job and put in a shift right to the end! Danny scoring is just rewards for his hard work of late and I'm really happy for him. They look like 'men' on the pitch at the moment fighting till the end so this will give us a great chance of surviving, one day at a time with SAFC :emoticon-0167-beer:

    Agree with all of that.

Advocaat seems to have convinced Wickham to get the spring out of his back at last.

It looked as if Coates was under instructions not to muck about and get the ball forward.

It looks as though we'll be sweating until the end but at least the shakes have stopped <ok>

Agree with Coates mate he did a good job, DA is keeping it simple but effective, and it's playing to our strengths! What a great game we've got at home to Leicester, we are rising to the occasion at the moment and we couldn't be playing a better team on form.. Can't wait for it <ok>

I'm going up for this one and doing a 'stoppy-uppy' ....... whenever we stay up after the match we seem to have a good result to celebrate.

We're in good fettle at the moment so no reason we can't beat Leicester.

Feeling like a terrible bag of **** after a weekend away, just popping my head in to say <ok> for the decent result. Seems you've managed to sort your **** out for this season, Hull and Newcastle looking like the two likely candidates for the scrap... if Hull do it will Bruce get the karaoke out like Phil Brown?

Not over yet, QPR looked fantastic against City didn't they... Newcastle could feel the backlash from that.

    Right... gym. **** my life.
