I played football at Hull Uni tonight. A large section of the car park was reserved for the Allam Squash tournament. I thought like ****. I parked where I wanted, nobody tells me where to or where not to park. A small moral victory.
Sorry but if he really is nearing the end of his reign then I could certainly see that being his end game.
Calling fans 'Luddites' now, I can only think you work for General Allam. He certainly fits the bill of the despotic industrialist anyway
Richard Branson himself says he's lost count of the number of his companies that have gone bust. There's an article that lists 14 of them. http://www.businessinsider.com/rich...gin-companies-that-went-bust-2012-4?op=1&IR=T Doesn't make him a bad businessman. I've met a few City fans, and a decent amount watching from the sidelines in one way shape or form that don't understand the fuss. No explanation was possible.
The only positive I can see from this is he can't now sell all the players in the summer and still claim he has the best interests of the club, not quid, at heart. Obviously he could and just pretend he never said this, but it gives me hope he'll spend in the summer to get us back up.
One of the worst things about this name change farce is the fact that it's become apparent that I support the same club as such simpering, spineless ****s as happy tiger, sunbeam-tiger and 'smartarse' who are quite willing to bend over so Allam can **** them up the arse for a few pieces of premier league silver while he pursues his baseless vendetta against the council. All three of you are evidently so weak, so easily manipulated, cowering down obediently to someone with a bit of money and status, meekly accepting whatever he forces upon you regardless of how ridiculous it is. The name of the club is Hull City. How about you Allam acolytes justify the club name being butchered. Why do it? What possible benefit is there? The only reason you can give is that you think Allam will stay if the FA choose madness and approves the change. His scaremongering has controlled you, you've bought the lies. Allam despises you just as he despises all Hull City fans. He wants out of the club ASAP and will be gone as soon as he stumbles on an exit strategy that saves face so that he can say "he never changes his mind". Logic and reason have long since gone out of the window. Spite and anger are the driving forces. Sit there and pick WUM arguments with fellow fans on here, but a few years down the line when Allam has gone, you three will rightly be embarrassed of the stance you have taken on this issue.
I'm not consumed by hatred, I'm just fed up of the nonsense and looking forward to a time when all the fans are once again united behind the team, rather than arguing with each about our chairman's latest insult, or his latest daft outburst.
If there're arguments, perhaps that's because not everyone sees it the same way? Even disliking his comments and actions can have different connotations. Pure wums aside, it generally takes two to argue. One side has as much right as the other to a view, it's often the tone of a response that generates it into an argument. I may not like some views, but there's still things to be gained from hearing and considering them.
Maybe the circle's I move in are different, but with the odd exception, most City conversation I have off here is very little to do with the owners. People just roll their eyes and talk about the other associated events for games.
Ah, I see. That's not how I read your initial post and replies. It is sad, even if people are in agreement on the underlying issue, the fall outs seem to be over how each reacts. It's actually pushing some people away from any campaign.
As this is Allam related... He was on Look North last night stating he will not donate any more money to the Labour Party unless they appoint a leader of the same ilk as Tony Blair... He even went so far as to suggest they re-brand themselves. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
Too long obviously....'The Party' At least Lord Brownnose Prescott now knows how it feels. Personally, I have passionately supported the Labour Party since I was a small boy, despite never having voted for them....the chap Atlee, or Clemmo, as I believe he was called by the supporters, was a top larker, notching up 8 great policies in 4 years, and I watched that Tony Blair on TV. Having established my credentials as an ardent fan of Labour I think it only fair, if a passionate and successful businessman like Dr Allam has put money into the party, that he should be able to call it what he wants, even if he admits he doesn't really understand politics and actually hates labour and the working class, eh John?
