You are the one boasting about hoof ball assists to the mop head One up from medicine is journeymen. I suppose that's what you are all right.
The Juventus midfield cost less than Jordan Henderson. Juve's wage bill is lower than ours also. We can't keep using lack of resources as an excuse for our failure. The club, Rodgers, the committee, board need to get their act together.
While I agree with your point, a midfield of Lucas, Gerrard, Sterling, Ibe and Coutinho isn't too much more than Vidal (ish). And how did Juve get Pirlo on a free? - Lucas - Gerrard Ibe - Coutinho - Sterling
Ancelotti is ****. His team is the most unbalanced I had ever seen* and for the money and players that's unforgivable *aside from a couple of week ago when I saw Van Gaal play a CM pairing of Rooney and Van Persie
Ancelotti was only hanging on bcos of the CL. Now that's over he's gone. They blame him. Although I agree with the general sentiment I think they played very much as a team last season, and before that under Mourhino, and under Capello. And all 3 times they won at least 1 major trophy. The problem this season is completely down to a lack of balance in midfield. If you have any top club lose its 3 best midfielders (modric, alonso, di maria) you won't see them do any better. It's easy to take a snap shot and blame the manager or players but as a result of those players leaving / being injured, it's been a case of them having to rely on individuals to save them. Eventually you can't keep that up, and we've seen that tonight.
I think they all have Diego. Look at Real's defensive record last season when Cassilas kept a ridiculous number of minutes without conceding and a lot of that was down to Alonso. He was crucial to their success. Di Maria we all know how important he was. Even the presence of Khedeira (who i think is not very good and overrated by ppl who've only ever seen him play for germany but never for Real) would at least offer some stability and protection in midfield.
I agree with all of this but, they sold Alonso so were reliant on Modric and Khedeira. For some reason Khedeira has had very little game time considering the alternatives and Modric has been injured. James was the seasons marquie signing and di Maria was the cost (same as Ozil with Kroos last year), with Modric fit and Khedeira behind him they would be much stronger through the middle.
Disputes over contract renewal I think - he wanted a longer contract but Milan were only offering 1 year. Amazing how one player has impacted both teams since ...
I disagree with this, actually. I think the difference between CL semi finals & winning it is really minimal and not always down to ability. Kroos has more than replaced Alonso in my eyes & James' is not really a downgrade on the inconsistent Di Maria. Its just that winning the CL twice in a row is really hard for anyone. No one has done it in the modern game so far because of how fierce & close the competition is at the semi final stage onwards. I'd be looking at Ancelotti and wondering why they haven't won the league in 2 seasons to be honest. His Serie A record wasn't great with AC Milan (1 league title in 8 years) so maybe he's just a knockout cup manager, which obviously relies on little things going in your favour.
