For Town to win Saturday; we need to be as good as we were and as off colour as you were Saturday just gone + Sears & Murphy to up their game up front, for me they were the 2 Town players who could have contributed more.!
Draw was a fair result last time round but we were below par - Dorrans was gash, Wes had a poor passing game for once, BJ was pretty quiet (credit to the defence there), Seb looked a bit nervy on the ball and Rusty had one of his worst performances for us in a while and ITFC played pretty much to their limit - I thought their defence was very well organised and marshalled our attackers very well although we could have done more to test them. I just can't see us being so poor again on Saturday. I hope AN goes for a more aggressive team selection with Dorrans on the bench or the beach and Wes back in. I'd like to see Hooper get some more game time as I thought he looked a class act during his brief appearance on Saturday with possibly Redmond back on the bench to come on against some tired legs and have an impact second half.
Can't disagree with any of that, Norfolkbhoy His poorest performance in a City shirt, which begs the question (again!) what does Vadis-O-O have to do to get a game? And I'd like to see Josh M on the bench, hard on the heels of his three goals at Anfield this week.
Well Cromer - you've certainly 'hit the nail on the head' as far as I'm concerned. Josh HAS to be on the bench, if only to get 1p5wich worried that he may well come on with about 20-30 minutes to go!!!!
I noticed that was the only line that was picked out of the interview, not this one. "They are favourites to go up, all the pressure is on them, they finished third and should have got automatic,” the 26-year-old said. nowt like telling half a story.
See, this is where the old double standards creep in. For fans of a team finishing third, the play-offs are a pain in the ass, as over a season we amassed enough points blah, blah. But for teams finishing 4th, 5th and 6th, they're the best thing ever invented. Guess which camp I'm currently in!
Er, because he displayed unbelievable arrogance with the idea that it would be comfortable. I know you struggle conceptually, but there is no link between how we finished the season/where we should have and his statement that Ipswich can win "comfortably". They're two different things, so I am not quoting out of context. But I do every time I hear "pressure is on them". Binners said it before the match at Portman Road, they keep repeating it over and over again. I'm beginning to wonder whether they actually believe it makes a toss of difference who the pressure is on. But if I repeat something a lot maybe I will believe it. "Pressure is on us" "Pressure is on us" "Pressure is on us" Although incidentally, we've generally played ok under pressure as it's been pretty high for most of the big matches in the second half of the season. Where we've fallen short hasn't been in terms of pressure, it's been when a tight-packed defence has got the better of us and hit us on the counter. It's the Binners who've struggled under the pressure like in the Blackburn match when all that was needed was a draw. Maybe that's why they're trying to convince themselves the pressure is on us - not because it makes a toss of difference to us, but because it means it's not on them?
but that quote is a very small, hardly 5% of the actually interview where he quite clearly says you are favourites. so to say he is being arrogant is rather false, he is being balanced.
Thanks for supplying another line, so now he is expressing the idea that Norwich are favourites, and should have got automatic promotion but we can beat them comfortably. Does this sound like a rational thoughtful man?
No - if that's the case he is being contradictory. Is his opinion that you will beat us comfortably or that we are favourites? It can't really be both as Longsight says. The comment, on its own and in the context of the entire interview, was either arrogant or confused. I am getting that familiar whiff of Binner panic. It's great - the air is rank with Binner fear, jitters and nerves. I like very much.
I would say its more, Norwich are favourites deserveably, but these games can throw up weird results and we can on our day beat anyone, even Norwich.
I don't disagree with that, but that's your words, not Anderson's. Definitely it's not going to be comfortable for us and in a one-off match it's a cliche but anything could happen. Though if I'm honest I think us at our best v you at your best would almost certainly end badly for you.
I don't disagree with that, expect the end badly bit because you yourself there are guilty of what you are accusing Anderson of, you would probably win, but not by a huge amount. we have beaten and drawn with better teams than you this year. i.e. the top 2.
By end badly I just mean I think you would lose. I certainly don't think it would be a heavy win. I can't really see us putting organised teams to the sword, as it hasn't really been our habit.
