don't confuse higher wages by far with "pull of the PL" Liverpool can offer more wages than the spanish counterparts. It's why most players at even smaller clubs are foreign. They just get paid far more than if they stayed put. As an example, there is more money in the Championship than in the Portuguese top flight. Aguero and Toure only came to city because of the cash, Silva too. Same reason many initially signed for Chelsea when they started spending. Spurs Liverpool Arsenal United City Man U and Chelsea can spend probably as much as the entire Spanish league combined. @luvgonzo The players are gone because they never get the chance because of foreign imports. 30% of the PL is home players.

@RedLadSonofAnfield I think it should have it's own thread and that we should tag the whole forum into it.
There is no evdience it is MASSIVELY in decline. OK, this season has been relatively poor in terms of performances in the CL. But Chelsea and Arsenal should really have done better. Were PSG and Monaco much better than them? Not really. Had the English teams not been unlucky they would have been in the quarter finals. As for there are 2 likely winners, this season may be but it is not like that in every season. It is something that has been debated at length here. In these leagues, no one else gets a look in - Spain: Barcelona and Real Madrid Germany: Bayern France: PSG Italy: Juventus Scotland: Celtic But in England: 4 teams could do it at the start of each season: Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Man United. You could even include Liverpool but that would be like Astro said a surprise and an overachievement. At the beginning of the season, we would not find it impossible to imagine that any of these 4 clubs to win it. At the moment, United and Arsenal may be off the pace as far as a title challenge is concerned. But with some purchases, why not next season? Apart from the title itself there are mini leagues and competition within the league itself: title challenge, CL challengers, Europa challengers, relegation battle etc. Another argument put forward for the poor quality of the premiership is how fancied teams lose games they are not expected to. Hang on, should this not be an argument for the greater overall quality of the league? Like Hull beating LFC, shows greater spread of strength doesn't it? When a team like leicester which had been bottom at Xmas can beat other more fancied teams. As a test of quality/strength of the league: would our bottom team beat the Spanish liga bottom team or the German one?
The PL is definitely worse than any other top league in the world because it's got more British players in it
