My statement is real who are champions BTW are 3rd best club in Europe now

Juventus with respect are not ad good but did a job on them

It would be like saying that when inter did a job on barca under Mourinho that made them best team when patently they were not

Same for when chelsea anti footballer their way to the trophy

Even so, this Juventus team is very talented and has been assembled on a budget. Lessons can be learnt.

Two games played and I have to say I was impressed by Bayern's style of football in both despite going out. Having said that, the tie also shows why attacking football should NOT mean compromising a strong defence. That was also evident in Bayern's Q/F tie iirc.

Alonso is such a quality mf but I fear his time is up. IF Martinez can get back to full fitness and back to his best, and Guardiola can sort out a stronger back 4, then this team is very close to getting to another CL final.

    Bayern ran into 3 things

    1. Guardiola and his silliness at times.

    2. Injuries

    3. Just plain world class side that barca have with best front 3 on the planet and pretty awesome 3 in midfield. In fact if this barca side has puyol at CB I'd say it's the best ever barca side

This Barca attack is the best in it's history IMO but the team under Pep was better all around.

To make this Barca side even better, they need more workhorses like Hendo or Milner (!) ;)

with xavi at his best yes it was awesome. I think thier current midield showed its class at the camp nou... i think left full is much stronger and gk looks good too. the return to form of pique has helped them but i still feel maschernao at cb shows where they can be got at...

FOr me the wat to beat this lot is route one... thats the thing. barca killed bayrn at CM really.. choked them off.

Xavi and Iniesta in their prime, with Sergio under Pep was better IMO. Rakitic is good but not close to their levels of quality.

Abidal was better than Alba, agree on Ter Stegen - he's a class keeper. Only 23 - so frustrating because Germany is full of these keepers and at quality prices. Ter Stegen cost around £10m!! There is no reason why we can't go after these players.

dunno about abidal.. didn't rate him much myself. Jordi alba is what barca really want in a player.

I would agree. very good keeper there going to bench warm half the game for barca and many more like him while we endure the deep line game of mingolet.

Would like to see Real Madrid bottle it tonight.

  13. I don't want to see yet another "El Classico". I don't want to see Real Madrid win it and I don't want to see Anchelotti become the outright most successful European Cup / Champions League manager (currently level with Bob Paisley with three wins)

This is Enrique's first season, he's had to take over a bit of a mess and a big transition in style of football, after Pep leaving and that other chap last season with Cancer too, 3rd manager in 3 years.

Barca had Bayern in their pocket right up till they scored their second last night then totally took the foot off the gas. Then Bayern came into it.

This Barca side are better to watch than Pep's. All that tacky tacky stuff got boring after a while. This lot break with pace and are devastating when in the mood. Messi, Neymar and Suarez were outstanding in the first half last night.

The quality of football on display was miles ahead of anything seen in the PL.

Don't disagree but Barcelona only know how to play attacking football and Bayern had to attack

The problem with the PL is smaller teams try to not lose against the bigger teams, big teams don't want to lose to big teams, and small teams can't afford to lose to small teams

Basically aside from Liverpool v Arsenal and a handful of other fixtures one side will have a reason to park the bus

  18. With that attack, they're always going to score aren't they? If I could pick three front players from anywhere in the world, I'd probably pick those three individuals.

FYI the only times they were like that, the tappy stuff was when they played the likes of Chelsea and other sides who parked the bus. They just kept moving the ball around to try find a way in. Blame 1800s football for that<whistle>

When they played teams that played actual football, they were absolutely brilliant to watch, like at Wembley v ye lot :D

Pundits are still talking about their iffy defence <laugh>

Their attacking and their high press are their defence, and has been for years, they seem to do ok with it. Their keeper has great feet too.
