OK this is a thread that is lets be honest flying in the face of reality for the vast majority . There are positive reasons for relegation already discussed , tho if we want to stay up in the Prem there are a few lights twinkling in those long tunnels . We have for the most part upped our game against the clubs in the top 6 and with the pressure almost being off , i think we could see a return to the earlier form that saw us in with a shout in most games . Looking at those games where we dropped point late on , they were mostly moments of brilliance or madness , if we can omit those brief moments we can get something from the remaining games . Brady , McShane , Elmo and Dawson have been our highlights along with partly solid performances from Diame , NDoye , Chester & Harper . NURSE !!!
I'm not quite understanding the bookmakers odds at the moment. If Newcastle are 1/11 to stay up and Sunderland are 1/8 to stay up, then surely we should be at least 8/1 to stay up but we're only 2/1?
There is a big chance we could beat Spurs. Mourinho has said he'll play full strength against Sunderland, so we just have to hope between Leicester and Arsenal Sunderland get no more than a point.
You know what worries me? Sunderland and Newcastle will surely be hell bent on trying to relegate each other.. that's motivation enough for them.. But OK some positive spin.. We could beat Spurs, why not... and I suppose Leicester's form is excellent so they could get a result at Roker park..
8th place for Spurs got a bit closer last night after Swansea won at Arsenal if Spurs don't want to bust a gut to get in the Europa League.
