    I'm in!

Could I suggest that if anyone is not going to be online much but still want to play they PM Mito so that he can choose not to give them a special role?
It kills the game when a key player is legitimately offline a lot (not the fake "let's not draw attention to ourselves" Mafia tactic).

I'm not too fazed by the setting/background story, but I find it better when there are more than two factions to add more uncertainty to the game.

So either a vigilante or vampire type third party in addition to the town vs mafia dynamic. The known innocent also worked well like the policeman (although when RHC wasn't online it wasn't that useful!)

How about a football hooligan themed game?

Town are the innocent, loyal people of Liverpool who don't have an allegiance to LFC or Everton.
Mafia are the LFC hardcore supporters, who want all townies to convert to their side or they'll kill them if they don't support the right team.
Vigilante is an Everton fan living in Liverpool and is out to get the hooligans.
Policeman is, well, a policeman who relocated from overseas so has a 100% neutral disposition.

    What do you guys think?

Another version of the same theme is instead of a vigilante have a second Everton Mafia group with the same powers, and see which Mafia (or townies) ends up on top. This will only work if we have a lot of players I guess...
Although you may find real life LFC fans losing on purpose if they're on Everton's side in the game! So maybe do a AC Milan vs Inter Milan or something?

  6. The football theme as been mentioned before and it one I'd like to see happen but it would have to be neutral teams, maybe made up teams? If we have Liverpool as a team then we'll get members purposely losing, same goes for Everton or Man Utd etc. (I know you've already said this too)

this football theme would require a lot of work scripting and testing. so far nobody has volunteers to do a better job than my crap.

  8. As I've said previously, I'd do it but my downfall would be committed times. I don't know when I can get on here via a PC, something you need to do as host. You can't run a game from your phone.

I don't mind doing it if people aren't expecting me to be 100% on time and following everything all the time. Also i don't know how to setup private message boards and stuff

even i figured out the boards side. I can show that.

As long as you say you skim... count bold votes... put a reminde ron mafia or whoever to actually take actions and then refuse to answer ingame questions for at least 2 hours <laugh> then the only time its hard is 8pm to post night time and then count votes

I think the key to this game is not being me and not posting.

    so I'm thinking

    simple enough game.

    1 mafia team
    1. vampire lord
town roles randomly generated depending on numbers at the time.

24 hour clock in week, no weekend play
    8pm time night time

First to die is made a stump. everyone else got a decent go at game and should shut up
    must lynch

Definitely shouldn't have a known innocent.

Even as as a townie last time it was boring as everyone just did what they said and it means there was no random voting which causes debate etc.

    I agree

I reckon the town roles will be random from a pool to mix it up and I won't repeat the cycling of double voter etc.
