There have been rumours that QPR will get relegated to the conference at the end of the season because they have not abided by the fair play rules. if this is true will the authorities A carry out this threat B promote both Rovers and Grimsby C Not doe anything because they are a wealthy club
Doubt anything will happen. Man City failed the FFP and they got a heavy fine and reduced squad numbers allowed. That was it. Hasnt effected them much as they are 2nd in the prem!
Read in the national press a while ago that the chairman was threatening court action if it happened but as the season hasn't finished I just wondered what would happen
One of the owners of QPR is the owner of the company I work for, so I hope the fine don't effect my bonus to much
I hope it doesn't RedorDead but if they get demoted and it gets us and Grimsby in the league then you get your bonus and we get with Grimsby league football. Seems like a good deal to me
Found this information in the sports section of the Daily Telegraph QPR relegation from the Premier league appears to be a foregone conclusion. But the same cannot be said about what division they will be in next season, amid their ongoing battle to avoid a world record £58million financial fair play fine. The threat of being kicked out of the professional game-a scenario the chief executive of the football league, Shaun Harvey refused to rule out last year--remains a real one if QPR lose that fight and don't pay up. The article is 2 columns long if you want to read it in it's entirety and is in todays paper.Thurs May 7th Maybe if the fine isn't paid then both Rovers and Grimsby will be in league 2 next season
They will not get thrown out of the league this sort of thing just doesn't happen to all these mega rich clubs
Gashead 79/Gastro I hope your not saying that justice can be bought Interesting interview with the manager and Joey Barton last night, they both seemed to be implying what we were saying last year when we got relegated, that some players were not that interested in playing for the team ,shirt or the club just in picking up their wages
No, I wasn't. But I think there could always be a first time when a big club is expelled from the league. I think 79 was saying it's unlikely, because the rich clubs tend to get a big points reduction and get gradually relegated down the pyramid.
I think worse case that will happen is a 10 point deduction from next season. Along with a transfer embargo and a big fine.
I thought they were going to get fined £65 million but no points deduction. That's what Chappers said on MOTD2.
If they are found guilty and refuse to pay the fine that's when the relegation into the conference would take place. According to the press today they are challenging the legality of the fine as they say the rules were altered during the season, if that challenge fails then they either have to pay the £65million fine? or face the throwing out of the league
The idea of them being thrown out of the league came from Shaun Harvey Chief Exec of the football league, It will be interesting to see if they have the courage to carry it out or if they will just abandon the rule as nobody will respect it and if it isn't carried out the first time the rest who break the rules will just point this out.
