I think if we do manage to go up the priority will not be for a wide midfielder. I rather think that we would be looking at Caulker or another CB rather than Snod if we are trying to pick the carcass of a relegated club.

I definitely agree we need a new CB. However, Redmond is our only real winger. Johnson has been fantastic on the left but I'd definitely be happier with some extra cover/competition on the flanks. My comment was a little tongue in cheek to be honest.

Can't see it being much more than a 'slapped wrist', but I hope they do get a substantial fine and I wonder how they'll 'Fer' in the championship next season??? <getscoatemoticon>

I'm quite surprised that AN has stuck with Rusty at CB, as I think he's more suited as a RB, but then I'm only a fan/supporter!!!
I'm not sure what has happened with Jerome as he seems to have lost his eye for goal recently and it has been a long season - maybe it is time to start with Hooper and see what he can do.

Not sure about Caulker, double relegation does taint him slightly in my eyes, and I bet his wages aren't small, even as a Prem side.

Going to be very interesting how the QPR FFP situation plays out. If the football league stick to their guns, its a £50m fee or drop into the conference, only to probably have to pay that fine if they were promoted.

If they scale back the fine, it completely undermines the principal of the fair play regs, and other teams would be more prepared to flout them if they knew they could reduce the fine.

Perhaps a heavy points reduction, possibly big enough to effectively relegate them to league one?

If we are preparing to circle like vultures over relegated Prem sides, what about Curtis Davies, who I seem to remember we were linked with before he went to Hull?
On a separate note, it will be nice to see QPRcelona wriggle and squirm, trying and avoid their imminent FFP penalties <ok>
It's going to set a new precedent, so we need the F.A to be strong here, so it sends out a clear message to anyone else thinking they're 'above the law / rules' :emoticon-0130-devil
How can a team including Joey Barton and Karl Henry be anything other than hideous :emoticon-0173-middl

Top post Cromer and I remember us being linked with CD!!! <ok>
I really do hope that KooPeeArr get what they deserve under the FFP regulations, but I can see them wriggling and getting away lightly!!!!
TF will just bankroll them whatever the outcome and I thank the day that Delia and co rejected his advances.

Not sure what has happened to Curtis Davies this season, he's been in my fantasy football team but hasn't played for months so he's either injured or massively out of favour. I've seen him pop up as a pundit a couple of times so not sure what stage his career is at right now.

I sincerely hope we have no intentions of re-signing Snoddy. He is left footed, but seems unwilling/unable to play on the left. Last season was horrendous to watch, and so predictable. The fact that he was POTS was more due to the total ineptitude of the whole squad than any show of excellence by him. POTS by default really.

He did score eight goals, and for me was deserving of the award. Some of the stuff I've read about him since he left is harsh in my opinion, he was our most effective player (ok, perhaps not saying much) last season, caused a lot of teams problems and always gave his all for the cause. I think if you asked opposition fans who our most dangerous player was last year he'd be comfortably top of the list.

I agree I wouldn't want us to sign him again though

For me, FFP is a joke. A team has all the money in the world, break the rules, so what do you do? Fine them.

Points deduction is the only thing that makes any sense.

Having said that, there is not a cat in hell's chance of the FL inflicting any kind of meaningful punishment on QPR. Rotherham, Hereford, Torquay - they'll flex their muscles. A London team in the heart of media darling land - not a chance. Slap on the wrist, maximum.

I'm afraid you may be right, but what sort of message / precedent does that send out to everyone else?
If they're forced to drop down a league (or two <ok>) then others may well sit up and take notice, but a fine alone - especially with a rich benefactor at the helm, is just pathetic and meaningless.
A transfer embargo wouldn't hurt them either, as they've already got enough WCT for the entire Premier League <laugh> - unless one or two of the mercenary bastards decide to jump ship :emoticon-0112-wonde

QPR are a London club, West London at that, they will NOT be relegated trust me.

If it were a provincial club flouting the rules .................

Going back to the OP I think it is between Hull and Newcastle for the third spot and either would be lucky to survive really. Well done to Leicester, it pains me to say it as they are my local team but what a recovery!

Going back off the OP :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I don't buy in to this "nothing will happen because it's a London club". Many people thought Rangers would escape the wrath of the SFA because of who they were - but they were wrong.

I honestly don't know what will happen because I don't know all the in's and outs, but if guilty as charged (if and when they are charged), I think they will feel the full force.

Do you think that QPR's punishment will be as severe as that dished out to Luton when they were found guilty of financial irregularities Thai ?

The difference there Thai is that Rangers had the SFA to judge, whereas QPR will have the FA and they have a track record of doing er FA when the chips are down and will shy away as much as possible. Don't forget going back a few years they could / should have stopped QPR being promoted in the first place and instead gave them a little slap. That is indicative of why we are not holding our breath.

Thanks KIO, I have just knocked up my century. Now I must take on board the comments of Geoff Boycott and not get sloppy and above all avoid the corridor of uncertainty.

I have no idea. If guilty of exactly the same thing (i.e. same charge) then the punishment should be the same but I am well aware that the FA are not consistent, but I do get the feeling that as this is the first case brought up on FFP, a deterrent may be handed out, to make other clubs think twice about their accounts and financial dealings.

The Faurlin-gate affair, again, I can't comment on as I am still sure that no-one outside the FA inquiry room know the full facts, but QPR did get a record fine for whatever misdemeanors they did commit (again - no-one really knows for certain why, and the report I read was not very clear either).
