Indeed Pie and yes Channon - I think he'll bring both the necessary grit and also encourage the players to take more risks in the right part of the pitch. I hope he doesn't make wholesale changes as I'm still sure we have the beginnings of a decent squad that needs maybe 3 or 4 out and 3 or 4 in. Certainly nice to be feeling quietly excited about next season.
Shouldn't the almighty be engaged in Nepal rather than in PFC's problems? Or were you talking figuratively? If not, there's a few of us who would like a word about his priorities.
Very good record in Ireland and for Chesterfield with a few minor blips, including one in League Two with Accrington, however probably the best you could hope for and hopefully he will do well for you guys. Is there anyone you would have preferred, is he your Koeman equivalent?
He was my first, last and only choice. I've wanted him here since I saw his first interview when we drew to them up at Chesterfield last season. He oozes class. He also seems hungry for success. My only question now is...... will Jed have second thoughts about leaving now we have a good manager in place?
The fact he has brought with him Leam Richardson as his Asst. Manager pleases me, as it gives us a completely new start, and a fresh outlook on tactics, etc. Can't say I was too impressed with some of the other names mentioned as potential new managers. Hope Jed gives matters careful consideration, and gives it another 12 months minimum at Fratton Park. Hopefully, exciting times ahead.
Good appointment for your lot? No excuses for not getting promotion now? you're currently 9/1 for the title... Try and win a couple of cup games this year lads so we get a chance of a derby (Bournemouth don't count!!)
No-one else I would have preferred and really pleased we got the number 1 target however I was also intrigued to hear Graham Alexander mentioned as he's another up and coming Manager whom I feel will go on to bigger things.
I'm afraid that when you are at that level, your best players do get poached - it is up to the team to get the most they can and let your new boss and recruit wisely, like we did on the whole .
Did anyone hear his interview on Pompey Player? I especially liked this observation "The fans have carried this club for too long, now it's time for the players and staff to step up......"
Well that goes without saying really, and nobody would begrudge Jed a good offer from a better team/club - but he himself has said he'd like to go up the leagues with Pompey.......... so for a while longer..... I shall continue to hope
